  • Hi Nelly, just been reading through your thread. We've been on tight measures for a while but just in the process of speaking to CAP about sorting our debt. So with moving bank accounts and other outgoings things are going to be really tight until hubby gets paid next on 20th Dec. Luckily I've done most of my christmas shopping and I've been saving the coupons with Morrisons for the free £40 shop so that one weeks shopping I don't have to pay for! Will keep following to see how your getting on!

Im feeling a bit more in control today, reduced my mortgage bill by 111.00, which makes me happy, bought some more Christmas things today and realised just how soul destroying it is buying things that people dont need just so they have something to open on Christmas day, next year I shall do things differently and only buy for Children, I'll give my kids some cash rather than waste money on junk they dont need. I've been putting together hampers off essentials for all of them and the step kids and the girlfriends, essentials like razors and shaving foam, toothpaste etc all wrapped in tissue and boxed into a sturdy Ikea box whic itself will be used again for something. On top of that they have had aftershave/perfume a DVD and a bottle of something nice to drink. I have 2 dvds to get now and 1 bottle of alcohol, may also get them an xmas jumper, just my 3 sons, see how funds are. Did manage to get 2 boxes of Milk tray Dark in the Morrisons Garage today for 3.00 (sorry my pound sign doesnt work), I also bought tealights to have around on Christmas day.
Right Im off to get wrapping,
Have a nice evening all xxx

Not posted for a little while, I'm pretty stable at the moment and Im not getting any scary letters through the post and payment arrangements are all in place. I have a slight over spend on my Christmas budget, and I've eaten two boxes of mince pies which were stored away.
I'm trying everyday to set myself a list of challenges to do just so I feel more in control. I can feel my OCD starting to creep back so that means I'm on the mend.
    Todays list
Carry the cheap cans of ironbru from the car
    clean cutlery drawer
sort ot the low kitchen cupboards
read some of book club book, (its tomorrow and I've only just read the introduction)
    Sort out parking ticket
    petrol claim for work
Wrap a secret santa for book club
    write christmas cards
    change bedding and washing
a mouldy spot has appeared on my wall so zapp it with spray bleach

No money issues on the list today which does feel nice.
    Have a great Wednesday

    Hiya

Sorry not been on for a while but busy with DS being here and being at my course 3xs a week !

Glad to see you seem to be feeling a bit better. It's surprising how getting organised seems to improve the aspect eh :D

Money a bit tight at the moment as we had to get another new-to-us car for DH to get to and from work (no public transport at 4.30 am), I haven't been earning due to no time and we have to pay for holiday this week

So when my course finishes next week I shall have to crack on and get my head down to earn some pennies pronto :rotfl:

Keep smiling :) and have a good week

On my last £5 for a few days, low on petrol again and low on school lunch money. Im hoping the few things I have put on FB for sale go today. I also need to cancel the Tesco delivery charge thingy that I started which is due to take, £45 out of my account on 15th.
Had a great weekend with very little spending, had a great time x

I can kind of feel all my money saving motivation slowley trickling away. I need desperately to get back on the ball, do other people feel like this at Christmas time, I really feel like all my good intentions have been wasted, so its time to open up my motivation book and try again. I will post tonight with a monthly forcast of spending:(

    Hi Nellie

How you doing?? Hope you had a fantastic Chrissy :D and really enjoyed a bit of R&R.

Now's the time to 'gird our loins', 'take the bit between our teeth' etc etc and join the challenges for 2014.

That way we'll have a bit of support and some help and ideas to take forward and sort things out ;)

Let me know which challenges you fancy and I might come along with you :T

    Have a great Friday

    Hi Lyne
Ive been off for a little while, Ive very nearly paid off the outstanding amount and have made arrangements with The BlackHorse to pay off my outstanding loan in approx 14 months, then Im all clear for moving house and in with my partner. I really didnt want to move with any debts so next May is my DF Date. Im trying so hard, Ive managed to do a really organized and tight budget that is realistic, told my partner all my worries and hes happy to live frugally for the next 14 months. I do need to update my signature though:rotfl:

Thanks for offering to go on some challenges with me, I shall have a look and see which ones toke my fancy, which have you joined already?

    xx

    Happy Saturday!
Well I'm so excited about payday next week, not even because I have any spare but because I can pay some bills and reduce some bills, I want to be debt free so much, Im trying really hard, really hard!
No spend yesterday and planning a NSD today and tomorrow.
Im feeling good about it, I've got DS lunch money for the first part of the week and hes going to have to take drinks and snacks from home on the last two days.
Going to eat food from stores this weekend. OH visiting for 2 days, hes going to feel how it is to live a frugal life style for a few days, he's a real spendaholic, going to try to have to rein him in as it makes me feel bad when he keeps 'treating' me.
Work have asked me to go fulltime from next week so i guess that is going to make a massive difference, but Im going to save as it is only for a limited time period, maybe i need to weigh up whether is worth paying off a debt with high interest or saving with low interest, think ive just made my decision:D

Off to get my calculater and budget out and fine tune it again!

    Have a great weekend:)
