Why is it you think I SHOULD know public sector workers?

    I don't, particularly.

I just think it's unusual for someone to not at least know one person who works in the public sector given that they are 1/5 of the workforce.

That and the comment about not wanting to write to a labour MP made me wonder whether it was a conscious decision.

the JC do not advertise jobs & Falko how many friends do you have who work in the public sector?

How do they recruit then? I have 2, both nurses, as for working that's debatable they are off more than they work.

They tend to do large recruitment drives rather than advertising individual positions. More information on the above website.

a senior pensions administrator for a private company
a legal secretary for a law firm in London
    a vet

Totally random and off topic but how exactly do you get a job in a job centre? I've never saw any advertised

You would be surprised! years ago I remember attempting to apply for a job there! ...although it was only part time
Only Thursday I attended an open day at my local jobcentre with a prospective employer (a trip to the jobcentre had never got so exciting!) - maybe I'll get an interview on the back of it, here's hoping
    :D

That aside, I've real admiration for you Falko, don't let anyone knock you

To be fair, if you have say 200 friends and family and you list their jobs 5 at a time it's pretty easy to list only private sector jobs!

I don't disbelieve you, I just find it unusual

I am indeed, just started another years study. If there is one thing to be thankful for in my current job its given me the motivation to get my !!! in gear and "try" and improve things.

It is easy to list them as I am telling you I have no one I know who works in the public sector, that is a fact. Maybe you know something I don't?

200 friends and family? Wow I have a lot of friends but not that many

Go on then dazzle us then with your 40 (1/5) that work in the public sector.
