hi all and good morning. just a quick post as im new to this. my day today will involve dog walking and motorbike restoration/refurbishment. along with all the usual house work, as I had to let the house maintenance manager go some years back and have no plans for a replacement.
    happy days, one and all.

Hello, apart from the housework your day sounds about perfect :T

    Happy Birthday to Ivyleaf

    Morning all,

Just started to rain here, OH is at the boot sale so I dont think he will be long. The wood came for the wardrobes yesterday so once he is back we will crack on and build them :T

I got a lovely surprise yesterday from a dear friend, the most beautiful bunch of white flowers were delivered, it made me cry but in a good way, I have them in my lounge and the smell from them is beautiful, what a lovely kind gesture.

Won't be doing any washing today did a load yesterday which has finished off on the airer , so will leave it for today.

Seeing as we shall be working all day it will be a quick spag bol for dinner, which I will ask dd to cook, she had a girls night in last night with some friends and pizza and wine which will do her good, she misses her grandad so much, he was like a dad to her and she was the apple of his eye.

Ok have good days all xx

Lots of catch-up tv to watch as well.
I hope everyone has a good saturday
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx
P.S.Ben had a great time and got home apparently at around 1.30.a.m. and had to be up at 6.00a.m. for his paper round :):)

Oh dear Judi, I can think of nothing worse and I do drive. Still don't really care what type of car it is as long as it gets from a to b.

    Morning.

I'm sitting in my dressing gown and DH has gone to the gym. I'd usually be reading the paper but I cancelled it last week because we are saving for a big purchase and I decided the paper was too expensive. I'm not missing it too much but rather than using the time productively I seem to be spending the time on the laptop.:o

The blondies came out very well but I shall take them down to dS and his GF, they've just bought a house which needs a lot of work and both have jobs with very long hours so they need the energy;) and I definitely don't need the extra weight.

We'll probably spend the day doing DIY, either with them or on our own house which needs a few bita and pieces doing.

HH I meant to say I'm glad you've recovered, I miss your blog.

    Whoops - Happy birthday Ivyleaf.

    Good Morning x

Bargain Bird - hope you had a good night with little dog. I imagine you were beside yourself. How frightening for both you and doggy. Some owners should be :mad::mad: for allowing their dogs to act like this.

DD back to uni today and then going to make a banana and chocolate loaf. Quite tired still and tummy still not right.

    Hugs x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi all

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm 60 today! We're going to the theatre tonight to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat", which is on tour atm. I'm so lucky that it's right in the next town on my birthday, as I've always wanted to see it. We're having dinner in the theatre's restaurant beforehand :).

nmlc - Well done for dealing with the trout, i don't think I could do it _pale_

Gonzo - "des"? Designated driver, yes?

tibawo - hope your DD is better soon :) I remember mine doing the same thing, and she managed to break a finger playing netball! Hope the memory stick turns up.

    tru - kitchenware blankets????

Camelot - (((HUGS))) re your DS going away. Hope he has a fabulous time - how long is he going for?

Welcome skitler Are you of the male persuasion?:D Just wondering because of the motorcycle maintenance!

(((HUGS))) judi, so sorry OH is being so trying about choosing a car (where's the "rolling eye" smiley when you need it!)

redruby _ How kind of your friend :) I hope the wardrobe-building goes well.

snoozer Hello! Have a good DIY day :)

LW have a lovely day with Ruby - she sounds a sweetie :)

Bargainbird - I gather from Molly's post there was an incident with your doggie and a nasty one  I hope you are both none the worse (((HUGS)))

Molly (((HUGS))) to you too, I hope your tummy settles and you start to feel better.

(((HUGS)))) to everyone in need of some :)
  • Hi all
Went to Asda first thing, then came home and I have a sausage casserole in my slow cooker - chopped pork sausages, diced onion, a tin of mushrooms, tin of baked beans and a tin of chopped tomatoes. It smells amazing and now I'm starving!
Got BF's dad and granny coming round soon for a coffee so I've already done all the downstairs housework! Got the candles on the fireplace lit so it's nice and cosy in here :-)
Hope everyone has a good day!
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
  • Happy Birthday Ivyleafanimated-smileys-birthday-040.gif enjoy your trip to the theatre, I saw jason Donovan as Joseph in 1992 and it was fantastic
    Welcome Skitler :hello:
It has been raining all morning and I was miffed that it was too cloudy here last night to watch the lunar eclipse.

DH is out taking the runner bean plants out and he and DS are then going to dig the raised beds over and give them a layer of manure.
The spinach is still going strong though and the butternut squash and pumpkins are now big enough to pick, but I want to wait until next week if possible, but if there is a threat of frost I will have to bring them in.

My master :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:calls, probably for a cuppa...........will that be one spit or two dear ;)

    BFN x

    Morning all,

Some food shopping and a drop-off at the charity shop so far today.

Things took a long time in the supermarket as DH seems even more tortoise like today - the new tablets make him think slower, he says. Unfortunately my meds are doing the business and waking me up. It's going to be an interesting few weeks chez Luxor :D

I am wearing my new cardigan - pure new wool and greyish pink. I like it as it is warm, comfortable and easy to get on and off. Fashionable it is not. I'll probably have to hide it when DD comes home next week. A while back there was a thread about cardigans in general, and beige ones in particular, being a sign of defeat in life. I realised that I should give up all hope and stay indoors when I realised that I own at least 4 :o

Today - a bit of ironing and some Columbo DVDs, then a curry (Sains offer last week) and Strictly. It's not a bad life when you've "given up" is it?

    Happy birthday, Ivyleaf!

    Welcome to Skitler.

    Have a good day all.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Bargainbird, I have just been on facebook, poor Tilly her poor neck looks so sore. Give her a gentle hug from me x
