Can the standing order be from a non Lloyds/TSB/BoS current account?

Can the date for the standing order be amended after the initial payment (so that 13 payments can be made during the 12 month fixed rate term)?

Thnx

[RBS/BoS...I have edited title on this page, but it won't change the thread title, unfortunately

    I think you mean BoS.

    Yes.

Lloyds and TSB standing orders must come for a Lloyds and a TSB account respectively. They will set up the SO for you.

I don't know anything about an RBS Regular Saver. Perhaps you mean the BOS one? Which works the same as the Lloyds and TSB ones.

Anyone managed to setup a RS with all 3?

Lloyds I've had no problems with. Setup instantly.

TSB say 3% on their website, setup instantly, but says 2% via online banking.

BOS says I don't have a qualifying account to apply for the regular saver, despite having 3 Vantage accounts with them, or do these not count?

Halifax only offer 2% regular saver, so not worth applying for.

Is the Barclays Monthly Saver new? Or is there a reason why people arnt mentioning it?

Earn high fixed interest of up to 3.25% AER / 3.20% gross pa 1 in months when no withdrawals are made

Going to open one next month. Will see how it goes. Not a Barclays customer. I assume they dont credit check you for a reg saver? As I have just moved house and wont show up on eletoral role

It's been going for a while now, you need online banking and a current account to open and operate it so they will perform a credit check on you

It doesn't get mentioned much because there really is no point in opening a Barclays current account just for the 3.25% regular saver. We are not that desperate yet.

However, BoS, LLoyds and TSB all offer 3% Vantage accounts, so they are ideal for the regular savers as well.

Well, I didnt actually know Lloyds offered a regular saver, and I have a current account with them so I assume they dont credit check me.

That will do, I was only doing £50 a month anyway, unless anybody knows how quickly they update the electoral role when you send your form back.

Are you sure the SO has to be from a Lloyds account for Lloyds monthly saver as I seem to have been able to set up mine from my Santander current a/c. Have to admit that this was sorted out online. Any more information about this would be really great as I do not wish to find out that the will not count my payments.

Mine says 3% - I would complain if I were you.

A few people had the same issue with BOS. If you call them, not mentioning the issue, and just ask for the Monthly Saver, they set it up there and then, together with the SO from one of your BOS accounts.
For unfathomable reasons, their Monthly Saver shows with 0% interest in your online banking. But you can complain about this, and they will confirm in writing that it is 3%. If you are lucky, they will also pay you compensation.
