  • oh okay - but in theory - when i buy these "pods" ie a box of cappucino "pods", in the box, will be the milk pods as well as the coffee pods?
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Yes - the cappucino and latte boxes have 8 coffee & 8 milk pods. The american, expresso etc have 16 coffee pods. If you look here: https://www.tassimo.co.uk/Drinks%20Range the ones that say 8 drinks have milk, the ones that say 16, just the coffee/tea

My kids bought me a Tassimo for Christmas last year and I love it! As a die-hard T-lover I thought I'd pass on some tips :D.

A good buy on the Tassimo website at the moment is the Coffee Lovers bundle, which contains 5 packs for £17 - Carte Noire Cappuccino, Carte Noire Latte Macchiatto, Kenco Caf! Crème, Kenco Pure Colombian, and Carte Noire Espresso.

You can buy packs of the creamer to add to any of the coffees, but they are quite expensive. If you love frothy coffee you can invest in a cheap battery-operated frother and froth hot milk in the cup before you add the coffee disc. ALWAYS add the milk or creamer product first - if you serve your coffee in a glass mug you can see the nice layers that form :p.

Put "Tassimo" on watch at MySupermarket.com and you will get a price alert every time it's reduced in the supermarkets. Also, if you decide on several varieties that you really like, order them on Subscribe and Save on Amazon. As long as you have 5 or more orders that are delivered at the same time you get 15% discount - you can fix orders to arrive every 1 to 6 months.

"Like" Tassimo on Facebook. Every few months they do discount vouchers for their website. Last month was £10 off a £35 order with free delivery.

Buy some de-scaler before you need it. You can still use the machine when the red "de-scale" light comes on, but it's advisable to do the process asap. I use pre-filtered water in my machine and the red light has only come on twice in 10 months daily use..

Do you still need the descaler if you live in a soft water area?:money:

I think the warning light comes on automatically, maybe after x many uses? Maybe there is an inbuilt sensor? It won't go off until you've put the machine through the de-scale cycle. Personally, I use filter water just to minimise any risk of scale build-up. You can use a cheap generic descaler, but not vinegar!

I got one in July - £30 with free delivery and the £20 vouchers too.
I recommend this machine, makes fantastic coffee, quick and easy to use!

    Me too :D

Costa coffee at home for far less money. My machine has already paid for itself several times over!

I restocked from the Tassimo web site. Also bought some from Amazon (Suchards) but they were the same price as the Tassimo site when I checked.

Try the subscribe & save option on Amazon. I buy all my Costa pods this way and they're cheaper than even the supermarkets. Tried Suchards chocolate and it's disgusting.

Would you recommend any of the chocolate drinks? I'd really like to find a nice choc drink but judging by the reviews I've read (from various sites) I'm not convinced that any of them are that great. Saying that though, the Suchard one seems to get the most love so I've ordered that one to try first :)

As much as I love my Tassimo I have to say I'm a little disappointed/surprised that the milks have sugar added as people usually add sugar to coffee after it's made, depending on personal taste.

I've ordered the 'less sweet' ones to try but it looks like they only have one option so I'll have to experiment with making frothy coffees using just black coffee pods and regular (non-pod) milk. If I can save calories on the coffees then I can make up for it with the hot chocolate drinks instead! :)

Was not keen on the cadburys one and only 8 in pack for that as 8 creamers too. Like the Suchards better, stronger chocolate taste and 16 in pack. Not tried the milka ones but have heard they are good. I suppose its all personal taste so trial and error. I do find the Suchards one makes a hot hot chocolate drink.(sometimes when you buy out I find it not hot enough)
