British Gas They Lie....its 18% for me!
Yes 18% price rise in electricity, how does that work? I signed up last year for fix until November 2013 and since then no new increases, the gas is going up 7.2% but the electric a whopping 18%!!! I had words with the giuy on the phone and he said the prices quoted on the news etc were average price increases...
I still cant see why its going up so much when the transport costs are a matter of flicking a switch.... He quoted clap trap about making no money for years on gas and electric and that its National Grids fault for rising their prices. Theives the lot of them:mad:

Ouch! That's a steep rise.

OP, please the remove the ridiculous dishonest lie from your subject heading.
Someone on the standard tariff facing a regional glitch may, at least, have half a reason to vent. Your complaint (a discounted deal not conforming to the headline rates) is a nonsense.0 -

NO its the truth, they state that the rises are one value in the media then tell me different, so who is lying???
The discounted deal as you put it is the same price as the standard tariff so again your wrong... I stand by what I said I am being offered no special deal thats the price...
Guess its good for their share holders though....0 -

This is the potential downside with fixes, especially ones for a couple of years, once they end you don't half get a shock when you find out how much the new bills will be.0

Media being the BBC/ITV who reported the figures for the increase from British Gas themselves.
Great replies from everyone it seems I am on my own complaining about BG thanks for the kind words I will de register from MS forums as I must admit that being abused for making a comment about unfair treatment from a utility company seems pointless on here.
Goodbye and enjoy life waiting for the next poor sod to make a post that you can jump all over0 -

No it's not. Transmission losses are enormous on the grid, and directly related to distance. if you post misleading info then you can expect to get corrected-that's what a public forum is all about.
How far are you from your generating station? No free lunch, and no free laptop
