Rip Off, Hikes, Profiteering, Bonus payment, Multiple Tarriffs :mad::mad::mad:
Fed up to the teeth with ALL OF IT
There should be ONE price for all domestic users, A FAIR ONE
I'm not sure the increases are a rip off, the green subsidies however......
Multiple tariffs are needed due to the differing systems people use in their houses, gas heating, electric heating, heat pumps etc all have different tariff requirement so one tariff would make a large proportion of the countries heating systems very expensive to run with in many cases little or no option to change0 -
The "huge bonuses paid to fat cat energy bosses while pensioners freeze to death" tabloid blitz this week is just shoddy journalism of the sloppiest kind imaginable-and mostly coming from even fatter cat newspaper proprietors.
Let's look at the actual figures; if Chris Weston's entire £2.4m salary and bonus package was taken away and redistributed among all BG's 7.8m customers, they'd get about 30p each back.
How about an adult debate on the subject instead? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Gas, Electric, or Oil, it all costs the same basic price to produce and supply, no matter what system you have, and thats the rate that everyone should be charged
Too many tariffs are NOT accessible to many people so why should they have to pay more
Its never used to be like this until privatization of our industries, which was done under the guise of making prices more competitive which was supposed to bring prices down, IT DIDNT, AND THE OPPOSITE PREVAILS, that is NOT RIGHT :mad:Signature removed0 -

Actually, the major 6 companies all have slightly different costs, but that doesn't address the crux of your argument.
Fine. Nationalise it. The average bill will go down about 50-80 quid if you were to run it as a charity. Give it a few years when the bloated inefficiency of state kicks in, it'll soon be ramping up again.
In the early 90's after privatization, the cost of energy went down in real terms, as the efficiency gains of removing the state juggernaut kicked in.
Tariffs are available to everyone. You just have to pay by DD to get the cheapest. What's wrong with that? Allowing the consumer to pay 3 months in arrears is incredibly risky, energy companies are giving people thousands of pounds of interest free credit. Why not give price cuts to those that are going to guarantee payment?0 -

SO are you saying the situation doesnt exist whereby people are struggling to keep warm or pay their bills, if you are you need to get out a bit more into the real world
You mention 1 person, multiply that by ALL the others who receive extortionate salaries and bonuses, in all sectors, THEN see how your argument pans out, NO ONE is worth or can justify a salary or bonuses at the rates that a lot are being paid
If any individual, no matter how good, cant survive on a maximum of 100k, then they are pretty poor business men to say the least

And what about the huge profits made by the companies from interest gained from overcharged DD's
Its time we understood that NONE of them GIVE US anything unless theres more in it for them either way, and lets face facts, if a tradesman came to your door with some of the terms and alternatives being used, you would be whinging at the top of your voices :mad:Signature removed0 -

That is just facile and stupid, anyone on 30k can live comfortably, so get real

Energy firms are giving a 6% discount for paying by DD. That's far more interest than you would earn in any bank.
Why should they give you anything? They're a company, their responsibility is to their shareholders.
Food is far more critical to live than gas/electricity, shall we nationalise Tesco? They certainly make far more profit than any energy company!
I understood nothing after the word tradesman due to the poor grammar; I can't address the rest of your post.0
