  • I applied on Sunday Evening (Wed today) to switch my account from RBS to Halifax's reward account to take advantage of the £100 switching bonus and the free £5 per month....
I got y new account number and sort code at the end of the online application on Sunday night. On Monday I received text messages from both Halifax (saying hello & that the switch was under way) and also from RBS (saying sorry you're leaving, we have begun your switch). Then yesterday (Tuesday) I received my new Halifax debit Card. So far so good :)

The post has not yet come today but I imagine I will probably receive some T's &C's soon & prob my PIN today

Ninth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
Switched from Natwest to an already open Halifax (for the £100).
The account had next to no money in it (I moved most of it out), although I was interested to note it moved some SO's across that would have sent money from Halifax to Halifax...

All seems to have gone well, but two weeks on only had a single text from Natwest to say they were sorry to see me go. Still no letters or anything to date.

  • Got an explanation from Santander about the John Lewis Partnership Card DD mandate problem; the mandate was non-transferrable, which Santander found out when they contacted JL Card Services electronically. Santander apologised that I did not receive a phone call or any form of information to advise I needed to complete a new mandate form, and made a goodwill payment to cover any costs I incurred. Luckily, JL Card Services were also obliging and refunded my late payment costs.

I asked Santander to improve their procedures, so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Surely I'm not the first person with a JL Partnership Card?

My M&S Card payment worked fine!

I've recently used the service to switch from Smile to Nationwide's Flex Plus account.

I used the full service, meaning they did it all and closed my account, because it was the only way to get the £50 for me and for the relative who referred me. If it hadn't been for that, I would have done it myself.

I didn't have high hopes of it working smoothly.

I was wrong. Everything was transferred smoothly

A friend paid some money into my old account, after it was closed, and it appeared in my new account immediately. I was very impressed.

I'd definitely be willing to use this service again.

I've just tried doing this with Lloyds.

I've always moved the direct debits myself because i never trust them to get it right although decided to give it ago.

Just filled out today it confirmed on screen but Lloyds are obviously building some leeway into - the earliest day you can choose is 9 working days from today's date (11 full days) and my account is already open. After filling in the form and it saying thanks its surprisingly quiet - no email or text confirmation as yet.
