Norwegian "no frills" long hauls from Gatwick S14

I flew with them last month to Gran Can.... basic, but comfy, and far more room than a Ryanair/easyjet plane (pitch).
Not sure how a 189 seat Norwegian B738 can have "far more room" than a 189 seat Ryanair B738! Granted they may use different seats (slimline) but it will not afford the passenger "far more" room. easyJet not directly compatible because they use Airbus, but the seat pitch is remarkable similar (despite pax perceptions). However there is the magical word 'from', the fares are one way, food and entertainment is extra as is the luggage. The only benefit I see is the slight possibility of a fare war but as BA will have 9 daily flights to New York and Norwegian less than one a day, maybe not?
Exactly. Nobody has ever really made long haul low cost work. All eyes are on Norwegian, but if they are in the ball park of BA/Virgin/United/AA pricewise then those airlines will win hands down on frequency alone.0 -
So a training captain for the 787 openly uses the nickname deathcruiser, I'm truly amazed, he must really hate his job
Of course he doesn't. Your assumption skills are akin to a Daily Mail headline.
Its like an F1 driver saying his car is a pig to drive. He still puts 110% into trying to do so.
No different.0 -

No different.
A better analogy would probably be Sebastian Vettel stating that Renaults were death traps, I'm sure he would still be keen to give 110%, but I couldn't see him racing for much longer :eek:0 -
Both professionals with integrity. Give 110% no matter what.0

Obviously I'm not being concise enough, any line pilot in the world who made unsubstantiated claims that an aircraft they were operating was likely to crash, would find themselves looking for a new job.
IMHO a pilot who was testing and training others on the aircraft in question would be completely bonkers to make such a suggestion :cool:0 -

... and you're suddenly paying the same as BA clobber you for.0 -

Better fire a fair few then. Spent plenty of time in the company of pilots, they all have a very similar view of other specific aircraft...
Anyway, you can have an opinion, as can a pilot.0 -

I guess when you speak from experience and are a frequent flyer, you get to know these things.
189 for Ryanair
186 for Norwegian0 -
Prices are starting to rocket already. Nice bit of PR to get a fairly new airline to the British public in the news. Offer cheapish prices for 1 day then send them up.
Their Premium prices are more than BA's on all quotes I tried out.
Also they only fly the 787 so you had better hope there are no more recalls, or they will be flying nobody nowhere. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Norwegian themselves say they operate both 186 and 189 seat B738s. Obviously you are so well travelled you can explain how 3 less seats (half a row) can provide so much more room over other airlines0
