    30. If a customer has performed a Check, received a voucher and then returned one of the items that was part of the Check, the voucher will be invalid.

    31. If a voucher has been redeemed from a receipt, the value of any refund given due to the return of an item on that receipt will be offset against the value of the redeemed voucher.

But to be fair, they don't really follow that instore do they? The instore CS, depending on store, probably know less of the T&Cs than we do, so they'd probably just refund on the product as normal, not know whether or not the receipt had given an APG, and then you sign for the return, they give you the receipt back. ...And then it's in the hands of the SA next time, as to whether or not they take it (or even look at it).

I think on the whole A's APG T&C's have more holes than the average size watering can head and as for staff knowledge/checking that's appalling, but they probably care little about it. I'd say 30-40% of my receipts are not marked when using an APG meaning that they could easily be used again if I was that way inclined, which to make clear I'm not.
Footfall/loss leaders are probably the most important aspect and I suspect a few of their 'glitches' are nothing of the kind.

Very quiet on the wombling front for a Saturday !

  • Good afternoon everyone
It took me ages to come down off my garden gate and try and get involved with this thread and now I have retreated back to the top off my garden gate this week, where I sit and lurk, watch, listen and learn. It’s a really nice place to sit as you can see both sides of the fence and gives you breathing space to make your own mind up on what is right and wrong for yourself
I would like to make a suggestion if I may, there is a lot of experienced and knowledgeable people on this thread, there is also a lot of different people asking the same questions over and over again, my suggestion is can the experience and knowledgeable people work together as a team to put a guidance/advice list together which can be put on the first page for all to read, then let people decide what is right and wrong for themselves, for example “opening new T accounts just to use the new customer discount codes” It is your decision if you do, please be aware that you can be banned from using c&c and online orders or similar words to that effect, this will get all points of view across without all the hassle we have had this week
I am not very good at putting what I think/ feel down in words so I hope you all understand what I mean and this thread moves so fast that by the time I have written this you have all moved on and left me behind :(:(:(
Right back to sitting on my garden gate

I've just discovered that TPP excludes batteries. Does anyone know if APG also excludes? Thanks.

No, I think you explain yourself very well. I too, do get frustrated with the same people asking the same thing over and over and saying good morning good evening etc., which means lots of people miss lots of things as it just takes too long to wade through it all. The reason it's done like this is to make it harder for store staff to correct the glitches tho, so it's pro's and cons.

The answer I suppose is a closed FB group, but then lots of people would miss out - again pro's and cons...

This is quite a big issue for when they take an APG away and run it through their computer and come up with a result much lower than you had originally. It could get quite nasty. Probably one to think about if you don't like confrontation.

They took mine away once but it came up the same as in the first place so that was ok but if they do what you are saying it could get very nasty. I won't bow down to them and I would insist mine was right and that I had nt altered it and I would stick to my guns too :)
