Say if I was to buy a pack of nappies for less than £5 could I use the nectar points to pay for them?

Tax credits will pay 4 weekly if you ask, I don't know if that will help you at all in the future.

Think they will only take off multiples of 500 points (£2.50) so you if you have 1200 points you would need to buy something for £5 or over if you wanted to use as many points as you could. Then you give your nectar card to the assistant and ask her to take it off your points and hopefully only have a few pence to pay in real money. Have you checked to see how many points you have? If you found you had more than 1200 it would be a lifesaver.

Also you could try looking in any magazines, newspapers, local papers, etc lying around the house to see if there are any money saving vouchers in there.
