Just to add (coz I get carried away and hit post ;))

This is how we work - my wages, bills. TC's living. What ever is left from the bill account I transfer to the savings account (debt account) and the end of the month.

We only have one main account but are with Barclays (like you) and I have the websavers to transfer money on a daily basis dependant on whats gone out / in or what we have spent - hope that makes sense :D

I am [STRIKE]anal[/STRIKE] concientious enough to also have a spreadsheet / spending diary that I balance with the bank every

    Hi IA
This is a horrible situation for you, but you being as focussed as you are, and as careful as you are, it does sound like you can get through. What needs to come out of that £7? It sounds like the food on the table - so its off to Sainsbury's to eke out the nectar points (which sounds a great idea) and get the loose veg and the cheapest own brand rice/pasta you can find. BTW, have you done the free Nectar click on the freebies board here? It doesn't get credited for a while, but as Newleaf says, if 500 pts are £2.50, they're giving you a pound. Might as well.

The longer term issue is about weekly/monthly - you've been struggling with that for a few weeks now, and I think a hard truth about being paid monthly and having weekly outgoings is that every 3 months, there's a month that has 5 weeks. Its a b*****, but thats the truth. Sorry.

Best of luck with all this. I think the other advice I saw up the thread is to breathe. That *definitely* sounds good. Good luck.

I'm sure you'll find a way through this... anything I can do? Few nappies? xx

I think I got every thing in there up until the 19th July. Hopefully you can figure out where to get your food and petrol budgets from. But like already mentuioned, I suggest you do weekly budget for both from the CTC and you OH wage covers the rest.

Sorry I should've said that's how it's going to be once Ste's in his new job. At the moment he gets paid on the 31st.

I called child benefit but all they said is we have to be on job seekers or income support to get it weekly.

Buy the biggest frozen chicken you can afford for £2-£3, some new potatoes (less than a pound),or ordinary potatoes and some salad and vegetables including a couple of onions, a tin of tomatoes, a cheap pack of pasta. Have chicken and potato salad/mash and salad for 2 days followed by chicken pasta on Monday and chicken broth on Tuesday. Whatever meals you plan around it a chicken will go a long way and can provide up to four meals. Oh and wholemeal pitta bread to go with the soup is very cheap. Also for breakfast you can buy a pack of porridge for 40p and milk is relatively cheap. What Im saying is buy good filling staples up to the value of £7. You can make that money go a long way hopefully.

If it was me I would look in the cupboard and see what meals I could plan around the ingredients I had got and then buy what I needed. i.e. if you had say cheese and brown rice you could make cauliflower cheese and brown rice which is very nice and you would just need milk and cauliflower. Maybe you could tell us what you have in your cupboard and then we could help plan some meals for you.

If you go to Sainsburys and use the Nectar card just tell them to take the points off the bill when you pay and you'll have an extra £5 for your shopping.
