Afternoon all,
Sorry forgot to say congrats to Granny Hilstep yesterday but the grandchildren are lovely
I could see the link ok- I'm not on FB in a personal capacity but joined on behalf of Lyla:) so we could keep in touch with the other pups and was still logged in.
Very wet today, keep waiting for it to ease up before I take her out again.I met up with the lady yesterday who has the 2 labradogs and pup had a whale of a time,& slept the rest of the day.
Fishcakes for tea with carrot & swede mash.Might make a loaf as we are running out of bread for toast,DGD loves toast. She arrived last night resplendent in her pink disneyprincess dress, looked very cute.
I usually make all my Christmas cards but not sure I'll have time this year, but I've just found 2 boxes in the garage-no idea what they were doing in there :rotfl:I was looking for a doglead and came across them so might as well use them up.
Think the rain is getting worse-might be a very short walk! Think I'll take her out soon ,then follow Jackies example and iron with the tv on.Have good days everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon All,
Cold and wet here, had to put heating on to take the chill off.
Just after having a lovely bowl of home made stew made by my OH.
Looking forward to DGS coming to play after nursery finishes at 3pm, so that's my afternoon planned!
Have a good day everyone. :beer:0 -
I'm a gibbering wreck today - had 2 blokes in my garden all morning, painting the fence and cutting back the ancient hedge at the back, insofar as we're allowed to cut it - we can cut what overhangs the garden but not allowed to reduce the height. It's a bit misleading to call it a hedge, as it's all trees - hawthorn, blackthorn, elder and such like.:o Usually we try and arrange to have it cut when Mr LW is on an early shift so that he'll be here, but that wasn't possible this time.
Anyways, they've done a great job, and although it cost a bit, it's money well spent; neither of us could do it ourselves (though before I became ill I'd have painted the fence myself); I just get so 'orribly jittery having workmen on the premises.
Tru what's up with the chickens? Hopefully they'll forgive you once they can have their treats again.:o
Originally the meal plan was mushroom risotto tonight, and Qu0rn fillets in white wine sauce tomorrow, but I've swapped them; the risotto is much simpler to do on "autopilot" iyswim, and I have Ruby Labrador arriving at 17:30 tomorrow, so a simple meal tomorrow seems sensibubble.:D I've not met Ruby before, but I'm told she's very laid back.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon All
Had a quiet morning in mind but the phone rang at 8.45 - I had placed an ad in the local paper to sell some furniture and it was a woman desperate for the bed. She came about an hour later and bought it although will be along to collect it tomorrow. Thank goodness something has gone, does no-one want furniture any more?!
Solicitor phoned to query a couple of bits, it all seems to be moving in the right direction, albeit very slowly.
DD is also off this week and she bullied me into packing some boxes, feels good now it's done but there's still a mountain to climb.
DS2 text and asked if we could go over to his in Edinburgh tonight to collect the last of his stuff - he's going travelling for at least 6 months so is leaving his digs and giving it to me to look after!!
DD is currently cooking a beef casserole for a late lunch/early tea, we shall take some over to DS2.
Hope everyone's well. Take care. XX0 -
Hilly congratulations, they are both lovely x
We had a strange pink sky here this morning as well and it has been raining all day, so washing is hanging on the airers.
Still not going to cave and put the heating on yet, just extra jumpers, slippers and cardis, plus hot water bottles and blankets on the beds, I can't move fast enough to keep me warm so I have a table top bio-ethanol stove that burns for 2 hours on 250ml if I feel really cold.
Asthma was bad last night, peak flow dropped down to 180, but luckily the nebuliser brought me back up to 300 otherwise it would have meant a hospital trip
I hate fog it always gets me like that.
DS has just got in from college and DD is on half day, which means that it is mad here, so I have popped my headphones on
and am just staying out of the way
Off to do an Amazon order for the last of the Christmas presents :j And I can relax knowing that all I have left to get is the fresh stuff
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon all
Home from work, full time from next week, will see how it goes.
Sun is out now, but it's rained all day, I have a quilt over my knee to keep me warm til I start cooking tea.
No kids in school tomorrow so that will be strange, still there is plenty to do so I'll be busy.
Have a good afternoon everyone.

Afternoon All
HH- I would have suggested Boyes, but the nearest shop southerly is March, Cambridgeshire. If I were home I would have a look for you, but as you know I am enjoying the sun.
HS & Julie congrats on the Grandchildren. I got the piccy HS & sent you a friend request. Good news on the support too.
RR ((hugs)) to you, know exactly where you are coming from with the Dementia, my Dad lasted 7 years with it, and it went from almost knowing me, to I was his Mum!, to I was the nice lady who came and held his hand, to being bed ridden, almost blind and deaf and all we could do was to feed him some Malteesers (he was always a chocoholic) as they melted so he could eat them.
LW Anti-gibbering vibes your way, enjoy your new furry friend.
Skye is really a star these days, you would think she could talk and understand us. Really makes us laugh.
Tea tonight is chicken & ham salad. (will shortly resemble a lettuce leaf)
((hugs)), Spoons, Positive Vibes, as needed grab a handful.
Take care everyone DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Glad some of you could see my photos.:j
I am a very proud Gramma!
DD rang to say that she had been to see my Dad and his urine bottles were disgusting and his room smelled. I got straight on tothe manager and he promised to sort it. I had a callback 20minutes later saying it had been done, and an apology.:T
DD & SIL are now looking in to how to finance the extension, exciting isn't it?
busiscoming2 The photo of Donny and myself was taken backstage at The Hilton Las Vegas in1979 when I went on the Osmond fan club wondertour! It cost £498 and I only brought home £110 a month, and I had to pay my mum out of that too!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Afternoon all,
Hillstep they are lovely and I love the name. I could see the pics fine as well. Sounds like a great plan all living together, I think more and more families are doing this for both social and financial reasons. We are currently getting ready for my daughter moving back at the end of the month.
Been out and about today and it's been dary and raining heavily all day. I couldn't stand another day stuck inside.
Thanks again for all your lovely comments, Amelia is now home and doing well and my son and Daughter in law are besotted:D
I've had my letter. I'm having my knee replacement on 25th November:eek: I'm scared but glad all at the same time. At least it will be done and dusted for Christmas. I'm off for the pre op next week.
Our son asked us down for a coffee tonight and then added on "Could dad put our new blind up while he is here?" Dave often has to sing for his supper. It's his own fault for being so handy!
Better get on, TTFM I'm glad the interview went well, fingers crossed your short listed.
Bye for now xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
