Halifax Cashback

So.... how do you get the offers? I use cashback credit cards for normal spending, are there specific 'trigger' merchants - e.g. if I go buy Pizza Hut on my halifax credit card is Dominoes likely to show up, is that how it works?Seems a little bit of a gamble as I could plod along getting say 0.5-1.25% with surety on everything, but then I won't get any offers with Halifax I assume.0

I don't use my debit card all the time, usually use MBNA credit card and I had Mariott hotels, body shop and morissons. I have used my debit card in the past in Morissons but I don't think ever for Mariott or body shop. My husband had homebase, a car rental place and now has Dominoes. He would never buy anything from homebase, he did do car rental on his halifax credit card in February but I don't think he's ever bought a dominos pizza??? So have no idea what would trigger them?0

2. Uses the retailer regularly. Retailer wants to get an increased spend or simply reward loyalty.
3. Has never used the retailer and the retailer wants new customer.
There's probably different variants of these reasons too.0 -
]You click to accept the offer in online banking. If you then use a Halifax card to purchase you get the cash back. You know which retailer rewards you before you select your card, so you can choose the card you want.
Some of us have an ancient Halifax card paying 1% cashback - in addition to the new offers!
Sorry, I mean how do you trigger the offers appearing in online banking. I have none. If there is some obvious e.g. "spend £5 at tesco and get 15% cashback at Morrisons" trigger to receiving the offers, I was hoping someone might have noticed so I can avoid "wasting" cashback by spending on my Halifax card (which doesn't offer any, unless these offers materialise)0 -

It's only advertised as "up to 15%" for all offers.
I got 20% at Morrisons too.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
Most of my spending is done on credit cards, which I pay off every month from my Halifax account. I tend to use my debit card at the post office to pay the postage on eBay parcels.
Not surprisingly, I haven't got any offers.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I've NEVER used my Halifax Debit card, but the credit card I use a lot for the free £5 a month. I just got an offer for Dominos (and had one for Argos too) and I use my card there semi-frequently so I'm not sure there is an obvious link.0 -

+1
I spend £300 ish per month to get the free fiver too and pay it off in full, I've never used my debit card.
I got about 6 offers inc, Morrisons (which I've used), Argos. Play.com plus some others I can't remenber.
I can't see how the spending pattern/offers are being linked either.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
I've had another look today and I still haven't got any offers.
I feel a bit left out!Early retired - 18th December 2014

I haven't used my halifax credit card since last ve (in the US) and have never used my debit card. I got 10% argos but nothing else. Might use it but has a max £30 cap, I was going to buy a £400 TV on a whim but the cap stopped me lol0
