Halifax Cashback

Options
I signed up to Halifax Cashback a couple of weeks ago and have started using my debit card to purchase items but as yet have not received any "cashback Offers".

I know there were a number of people that didn't get any offers when they signed up so has anyone had any offers added that initially didn't get any?

    I've had no offers either.

I've spent the best part of £400 on my linked halifax credit card (not debit) at different retailers over the last month.

Rang them up and they just said my spending pattern didn't match up with their cashback offer generator for now.

Will probably not bother and go back to using a different cashback credit card next month - at least that way I'm gauranteed to get something...

Yes I've used it a few times in the hope of activating the Morrisons Cashback but without success. I'll stick with my old Capital 1 cashback card that pays 1%

I've used it for New Look, Play.com and Morrisons. My cashback has tracked and will hopefully be paid at end of month.

What I do think is rubbish though is the offer is only one time. So say I went to Morrisons 3 times in a month I would only get cashback for the first time after activating the offer. That sucks !! I should get cashback on every time until the offer period ends.
  • How much cashback do you get at Morrisons?
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

I got 20% at Morrisons, just had the Dominos one added yesterday too.
  • Seriously? 20%!

It's only advertised as "up to 15%" for all offers.

I only got 10%, I think they look at what you spend too. Other offers I had were 10% at Argos and New Look where as I knew 2 or 3 other people who had 15% or 20% at the same retailers.

It should be fair across all users. Like I said though, the main gripe with this system is you can't use it more than once. WHY NOT !!!

    Define "fair".

If I was a retailer looking to pay a bank's customer for shopping with me I'd want to ensure I was getting a lapsed customer back, a brand new customer who has never used me before or an existing customer to up their spend in return for my investment.

Paying a different percentage incentive for different categories of opportunity makes absolute sense if it's to be of benefit to the firm that is footing the bill.

Because that's all the retailers are prepared to pay for?

I've got a 25% one for Q-Park. I'd rather not queue when parking my car though, so doubt I'll use it.

So.... how do you get the offers? I use cashback credit cards for normal spending, are there specific 'trigger' merchants - e.g. if I go buy Pizza Hut on my halifax credit card is Dominoes likely to show up, is that how it works?

Seems a little bit of a gamble as I could plod along getting say 0.5-1.25% with surety on everything, but then I won't get any offers with Halifax I assume.
