Feeling better today. I don't think I told you all that while I was in Kings College
DD had my grandson! His name is Evan Philip Howard named after his three grandfathers.
He weighed 7lb 6oz at birth and now at 8 weeks is 10lb 5oz! He only seems to eat and sleep
In contrast to the baby, my Dad has gone down to 3 stone 12lb. I don't know how he's staying alive.
Anyway, hope everyone else is okay.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

........... We got there to find they were closed due to the EID Festival, which is their Sugar Feast or Sweet Festival, which marks the end of Ramadan. ........
Ramadan was over in August, this Eid (festival) is al-Adha http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/514003/20131015/eid-al-adha-2013-feast-sacrifice-bakr.htm
I know this because a friend living in Alexandria was surprised to find her neighbours slaughtering & cooking a goat in the entrance to their block of flats...she said it tasted good once she got over the surprise!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Evenin' all,
TTFT - fingers crossed x
Julie67 - she's gorgeous!
Hillstep - (((hugs)))
It seems a lot have been awake most of the night but I may be the only one who was paid to be awake!Got home at 9, did crosswork and sudoku with brekkie then bed, I woke up about 16:50 to find Mickey cat very listless, he's still just curled up on the sofa and not eaten or drunk anything today since brekkie according to DH. He's such a lovely cat, he came to us from the RSPCA two years ago, and has a sweet natre. If he's still the same in the morning I'll have to take him to the vet, he doesn't seem in pain though which is something.
Baked a gammon joint for tea with cauli and broccoli cheese and potato croquettes - very yummy!
Carpets being fitted in bedrooms tomorrow and DD1 wants a hand filling in a job application, she works so hard but is on minimum wage and wants to save to buy a place of their own with BF.
Nos da all. xxx0 -

Good grief - I am moving to Alexandria soon, hope it doesn't happen there! I must add that it's not Alexandria, Egypt but the one in West Dunbartonshire!!
Hilstep - Congratulations on being a Granny, sounds like a big healthy boy. Hugs to you regarding your Dad.
Take care. XX0 -

Hope you feel better soon, OP. sounds like an allergic reaction. If you still have the list of ingredients (or can get hold of it), you might want to write down the "E-numbers" or other bits in the trifle so you can avoid them in the future.
Thanks for the advice trollyrun, I have dug the packaging out of the recycling...........ohhh.......I can't believe tubs could have been given to little kiddies..........there is soooo much in the jelly!!!
Will write them down but really do not plan to buy such items again!0 -
Just nipping in
Julie - Amelia Grace is beautiful, love the name of your granddaughter.
Hilstep - congratulations on your grandson. ((Hugs)) to you too.

Not managing much os at the minute, am ds2 taxi during the week as he is now doing sea cadets two nights and scouts another night. I'm also studying 1 night a week along with a couple of hours homework. I also end up reading and scribing for the majority of ds2 homework most nights too.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care0 -

Had a bit of a trial tracking down animal free jelly when I was last in the UK, nearly all are listed as having pork fat (or something like that) in them. Eventually found that Weightwatchers sachets were vegetarian, but contain aspartame.
I am sure that there must be vegetarian jelly without aspartame, but couldn't find any in the supermarkets, probably if I had gone into the likes of Holland and Barrett, they would have had them.
Such a shame, as they are readily available in crystal form in Cyprus....I really will have to take some back with me next time I head to the UK.0
