    Julie she is beautiful :)

We have finally got things moving on the multi-fuel stove, it will be just under £2,000 fitted smiley-vault-misc-075.gifbut it is Defra approved and because we are having it fitted by a reputable company it turns out that we don't need building regs because it will all be certificated. The surveyor is coming out next week, but they will not be able to fit it until after Christmas, because they have been inundated with orders, the showroom was packed today as well. Just goes to show that people have had enough of being ripped off by the energy companies.

  • When the girls were living at home they were both dairy (cow and soya) allergic and ended up very fussy eaters to boot, so almost everything was made from scratch or lables scrutinised and rejected.

As the 'kids' are not at home now we are able to try 'normal' foods and YS shopping has become both good for the bank balance and good to have foods we would not normally eat/try.

On Sunday I needed eggs so popped into Mr.S and couldn't pass up a look at the YS shelf. Four raspberry trifles for £1, great for me and OH for Sunday dessert and a couple for lunches.

Woke up yesterday with a bit of a fat lip, felt a little under the weather so had lemsips and a nap. Cooked dinner and thought, I'll have another trifle, it was just as yum as it was on Sunday.

But this morning I woke up and 2/3rds of my face was swollen from the mouth upwards. Lips like split purple sausages, tongue wider and fatter than my mouth, metal taste in my mouth like I had burnt it on a very hot drink! Tingly right up to my eyes!

Went to the doctor who says it is a reaction to the colours in the jelly within the trifle. A mega dose of steroid for me for three days (6 tablets in one go in the mornings) and antihistamines to stop it in it's tracks!

Certainly has made me realise that we have for 19 years eaten a pretty good, additive free diet due to the girls dairy allergies and fussiness. I won't be buying and convenience YS items again!

Bad luck, sunset, perhaps you could try making your own home-made jelly-free trifles? Just use cake, jam, fruit, custard, cream and decorations. Or you could do a jelly trifle but use real gelatine and fruit juice?

Back from work now, need to pick all the tomatoes from the garden before the weather kills them all.
Sausage and mash for tea with onion gravy as I'm feeling lazy.
LW, definitely save your spoons for the important things, lol, I do.
    Have a good afternoon everyone.

    Afternoon All,

TTFTM- hope your interview has gone well.
Granny Julie - Amelia Grace is lovely.
Redruby - one day at a time. Clearing your Dad's things will be hard for you, BIG HUGS.

Still haven't got my lump sum pension because my former boss didn't fill in some forms for them. However they didn't bother their butts following up with it so they are to blame too!

One of our local Indian Restaurants are doing a £4.95 two course lunchtime special so I decided to bring my OH to have an OS lunch. We got there to find they were closed due to the EID Festival, which is their Sugar Feast or Sweet Festival, which marks the end of Ramadan. Ah well, just my luck lol

Have a good day everyone

Good heavens, that sounds horrendous! Hopefully all the tablets will have you feeling normal again soon.

YS = Yellow Sticker, also known as RTC = Reduced to Clear.

Hope you feel better soon, OP. sounds like an allergic reaction. If you still have the list of ingredients (or can get hold of it), you might want to write down the "E-numbers" or other bits in the trifle so you can avoid them in the future.

What an awful thing to have happened Sunset Gold, hope that you get back to normal soon.
Agree with Trolleyrun...take note of those e nos. in the trifle and then you can avoid in future. Not all are bad.

Couple of links to help with identifying e numbers. http://www.ukfoodguide.net/enumeric.htm

  • Julie - Amelia Grace is absolutely beautiful and so is her name.

Interview went well, it was a preliminary and they are hoping to short list for a second interviews by the end of the week. I really want to work there but can't get too optimistic. Watch this space ...... :)

    Afternoon all

Back from my couple of days away visiting friends and family. It was really good to catch up with everyone even though it was brief. Weather wasn't too bad so went for a couple of walks with the dog my Aunt is looking after for my Cousin (Cousin currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer but looking surprisingly well and sporting a fantastic wig!).

Lovely drive back today, just got stuck in traffic through Glasgow.

Julie - Congratulations, love the name and she is so pretty.
TTFTM - Glad it went well, fingers crossed.

Off to catch up with what you've all been up to for the last couple of days. Take care. XX
