This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good Luck TTFTM xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good morning everyone
Just a quick post today but really wanted to wish TTFTM 'Good Luck' for your interview. I really hope you get the job and it is a new start for you x
No sign of the girls yet so I have to go and chivvy them along. Hubby has just gone off to catch the bus for work. He really enjoyed his day off and was grumbling a bit about going back to work but we need the money.
Attempting the Hairy Dieters spicy pork and rice for tea. It looks quick and easy so hopefully it will taste good too. I have friends visiting today so must go and tidy up the living room.
Take care everyone and gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning all
Ttftm -good luck with your interview
Julie - congratulations on becoming a grandma again
Hilstep - take it easy
Just had a nice hot bath and hot chocolate. Heating isn't working for some reason. BG are coming out today to fix it hopefully. It's usually the pressure dropping on the boiler but that seems to be ok. Fingers crossed they can sort it. We're all cold.
Nothing much planned today. Bathroom needs a good clean and all floors to be swept and mopped. Tons of washing to do but without heating its taking forever to dry.
No idea what is happening food wise. Will rummage in the freezer.

Morning all!
I put the heating on for 5 mins this morning. OH stayed at his mum's after his night out as it's easier to get to from town than ours. So was chilly.
I'm off to Nottingham for a meeting today. Quite excited, shows my bosses trust me more. But my kitten bit my nose in thr night so look like a vampire tried to amputate it!
Dinner is prepped and I do need to do housework just depends on what time I get home.
Have a lovely day all. Hugs to those who need or want them x0 -
Morning everyone
Julie - congratulations grandma!
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Dry but chilly here this morning.
DH up early but not stupid early and gone to work. Boys up and had their brekkie, now getting sorted for respective college/school.
Dinner last night was scampi, chips and peas for the menfolk, and I had fish, jacket potato and peas. Was a disjointed meal as DH was late home from work. Tonight I'm not sure what we will be having but I have plenty in so will be able to organise something.
Work yesterday was a slow start but then returned to the normal manic Monday - hoping today may be a bit quieter but it's difficult to tell. We've been able to book a maximum of 2 weeks holiday for next year at I've put in my dates and found out yesterday it's been authorised - so I'm a happy girl! Will start having a look at what's available.
Keep safe and well x

Julie67 Congratulations! _party_
Time to face the music Good luck xx
All washing done, the last few bits are almost dry and I didn't have to put the dryer on
I have a little pile of things that need to be scanned/copied, plus I need to print a few things. Really hoping the ink is delivered today. I ended up with three printers when mr tru's old employer retired and closed his business. I used the first HP one til the ink ran out then switched to the next one (another HP). The ink ran out on that one last week, I have no more black but still have a spare colour cartridge. Was going to order black ink til I looked up prices for the third printer, a Brother. It was cheaper to buy all four replacement cartridges for that than one black HP one. Plus the Brother takes separate inks, the HPs are all-in-one for the colours, so there will be less waste.
I checked Timmy this morning, his cage was soaking wet. Immediately felt guilty, trying to remember when I last cleaned him out - it was yesterday. Then I panicked, thinking he must have a bladder problem or something, hope he's not in pain, will have to ring the vet....... Nope, his water bottle has sprung a leakI have three more in the shed, problem solved. lol
I've been using our bedroom as a sort-out room, it's now very dusty. I'll give it a good clean and hoover today. Then I'm going back to my sofa, which is surrounded with yarnI have all afternoon to sit and play, bliss.

Morning all,
GOOD LUCK TTFTM.
it's a bit awkward trying to type wearing 3 jumpers, so might swap the top one for my dressing gown when D"why don't we put the heating on, it's only money after all"H goes to work. Bless him, if he had his way the house would be red hot all day, just in case. Once I get moving, I'm not cold and I grudge paying for so much heating when there's nicer things I want
I don't know if yesterday's post landed or not as my laptop is playing up a bit, anyway I had a great ordinary day and went for a walk as well as doing the shopping bits. Yay for Enbrel!!
The Probate has been granted so DH's awkward rellies can accept he is the Executor or pay out big time if they choose to challenge the will. The Public Guardian doesn't deal with POA misuse after death, it's part of the Executor's duties - hence the "difficulties".
Dinner from the freezer again, I sorted it at the weekend and found even more nice things hidden in the depths. I have also sorted out a notebook and found a cash ledger notebook, so I can start recording household expenses etc.
Time for breakfast I think,
Have a great day xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
