    Nor does anyone else.

May I strongly suggest that you quietly sign out, and go here:

    http://www.urban75.com/Mag/bubble.html

It's one of those little harmless things that might calm you down.

I think it will be a better use of your time, to keep popping all these bubbles. Very therapeutic. And just as you want, they all come back again, so you can live in a world of constant bubbles. Just what you want.

    Just seems appropriate somehow.

The rest of us can keep the real world ticking over.

    Boom Boom!

If I make an error, I apologise for it straight away, and have done.

Why are you unable to let it go?
  • You are, however, the only person I've ever seen try to suggest that there wasn't a house price bubble, . .

From Professor John Kay in the OP.....

"Talk of another property bubble is wrong.

My concept of a bubble is when people are buying things not for their intrinsic value but because they believe they will shortly be able to sell them at a higher price.

"That was true in parts of the US property market and it was true in Spain.

I don't think it was ever really true in the UK."

So when you said "only person", are you admitting you didn't read the first post in the thread?

    :)
Now, could you explain how gold was in a bubble, and house prices weren't?

    I'll start a thread on it.:D
“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

But as I've said, people WERE speculating on the UK market. We've heard enough about people who have bought into BTL to make money through speculation on prices. We;ve heard enough about people buying a BTL instead of a pension as the BTL should make more.

    People are speculating today.

Just my wicked sense of humour, I suppose. I just find myself trying to imagine how you can keep shooting yourself in the foot so often. Your posts just remind me of so many things that amuse me. Baldrick from Black Adder, Manuel from Fawlty Towers, Rodney from 'Only Fools..', and Frank Pike from Dad's Army......

    ... but it's good entertainment!

Apart from here? In this thread? Less than 10 posts ago?

Yer, apart from that apology, I haven't apologised at all.

So is it a boom or a bubble or is it both, I just can't make my mind up... I'll change my mind within a few posts.

    Please excuse the sarcasm above.

As far as Graham is concerned, I can only call it a "bumble".

    **MUDDLE ALERT**

That's the apology for you being incapable of differentiating between boom and bubble.
