Awaiting result of PIP assessment

My friend has filled in a claim form for this benefit and had an appointment with someone to be assessed.
She was told she would hear the result within 30 Days. Well 30 days is up and she hasn't heard anything.
How long is it taking these days to hear the result of the assessment ?
Is it yet another example of, if they need something they need it by yesterday, while if you need something it could take for life
We're working on no news is good news ?!
Many thanks

I'm afraid that no news is simply that. PIP is very behind and we have heard from people who still have not got decisions after months of waiting

Essentially nobody except people with cancer are getting PIP decisions.
It's widely suspected amongst the adviser community that this is so that no decisions can be finalised and have to be reversed once the consultation on the walking distance in PIP is done.
(The government without adequate consultation reduced the maximum walking required from 50m to 20m)
This is due any day now, so it's possible that there is a whole heap of decisions just waiting to go out that have been decided for the consultation going the expected way.0 -
pip defianatly are in no hurry. ive been waiting 21 weeks since i fist claimed, and tuesday will be 10 weeks since my face to face appointment

Lupylucy, you heard anything yet ? Hope that you have.
My friend still hasn't heard anything. It's about 2 months now since the 'face to face ' appointment0 -
hi longforgotton, yes i got my descision days after i posted, so just under 22 weeks in total, and i was awarded it

In the end i contacted my mp, and as soon as it was back from atos i got a decision in a couple days.0 -
We are still waiting for OH decision. MP contacted on Thursday hopefully that will speed it up. Are they hoping people will starve or kill themselves save them some money the time taken is ridiculous. We discovered that the person at Capita who was helpful has gone!0

thats a it of a silly thing to say!
no one will starve because they are having to wait for a PIP decision!
it is an additional payment to help meet extra costs that arise through disability and not for day to day living basics.
no one has less money than they had before, while waiting for a PIP decision and if awarded will have every penny backdated.0 -

Really! Gosh I must be imagining our situation then ever had to choose between medication, hospital appointment or.food?
Or perhaps the medical expenses can wait for the 300 years it takes for a decision.
Im working full time caring for OH, trying to stop his mental health deteriorating further oh and raising £20 each way for hospital once a week the same for physio once a fortnight 2 prescriptions a month for him 1 for me on a wage that is £40 per month over the threshold for help so please don't patronise me.0
