Paddy, any chance could you give me more detail about the flash version you just mentioned, cheers

A quick web search gives this: http://www.king.com/games/puzzle-games/candy-crush/?language=en_US

thanks Esuhl, I tried that one but it takes me to level 1 only. I need to play through facebook which syncs with my iphone. It's there (on FB) that there is a problem.

I'm reluctant to install java now; as Paddy said, maybe I don't need it. Perhaps the problem isn't lack of java as I have just managed to view graphics on another King game. Am confused.

Maybe try a reinstall of the game? Or clearing out your browser cache
  • sorry if it is a dumb question but how do I do that?
  • Can be downloaded from here OK

  • I've been having the same problem. Click on download and it says something like no data received. I'll try that link when I get on PC.

Was playing around with an SBS2011 box earlier today and got a Java error message, except after the message the software appeared to download anyway.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Not knowing how you play it, but I guess in a browser? If so, search for 'clear cache <browser name>', but it usually involves going into the options and pressing a button to clear temporary files/cached files. This means the browser has to go back to the website to get a fresh copy of the game, and this can often solve problems where something downloaded improperly for some reason :)
  • Thanks Paddy, I have now downloaded Java. After your advice I did ask myself if I really needed it but unfortunately after trying to book some overpriced London theatre tickets I found that I had to have Java to look at the seating plan to see which seats were actually available to choose and book. Thanks for your advice anyway.

I think that is referring to Javascript a different kettle of fish , you really don't need Java unless you use programs that need e.g. Citrix
