  • Ah But you will LAM as I will post a pic later ;)

Actually tastes really nice. Can't have it for lunch as too hot to blend and I cut all the veg really chunky (cos I'm lazy) so I don't want to eat it as it is. I'll blend it later.

Went to coop whilst I was out as needed sweet chilli sauce and beef stock pots. Picked up 2 packs dried spaghetti whilst there as was only 35p per pack. Spent £4.63 in total.

Got DD's tyre. Good job I went as the tyre was actually beginning to crack which on the country roads might have been dangerous. £50 for that which was pretty good. She's already paid £25 so she just owes me £25 now.

Got my approved foods box. TBH I have really wasted my money. I stocked up on handwash as I thought they were huge bottles and could have got them cheaper in Aldi. Got bodywash for DS but tubes are tiny. Got tissues and kitchen roll which were a good buy. Bought 12 packs sponge mix :eek:Going to give a couple to my friend's daughter as I bought her all the stuff to ice cupcakes at Christmas and this will allow her to practice. I also got 6 chicken casserole mixes with a best before April 2014 but they will get used no problem. I will use the stuff but I could have done without tbh. Lesson learned folks

Gorgeous day here today and to be nice tomorrow as well apparently. Going to get DS to cut grass tonight and then I can get into garden pots etc and start getting it sorted out.

I hope the sun is shining for everyone today xx

Lol Ali I reckon I'll be needing it. I've prepped the soup and it was too much for my soup pot so I have had to transfer it to my slow cooker. It is now on and hopefully ready by lunchtime. I have never ever seen anything as gross as those green lentils comong out of that tin. They just looked like mud. Here is a pic so you can see said soup in its raw state

I love green lentils (well all actually) but I have to agree that they look a lot like mud. I don't use tinned though but even the dried is like that.
I did shepherdess pie last week and added all colour of lentils and boiled them up and it just looked like pond water:eek:. Luckily after I had added the tomatoes, gravy and other veg it was to die for:D
They have a very meaty flavour so give the impression of meat in a dish when there isn't any (I usually add veggie mince to shepherds pie but can't have it on my gluten free diet so I was worried I would miss out)

    Hope the soup tastes nice

I have to agree about Approved Food - I find it very hit and miss, some people post about the wonderful offers but I am always too late.

When I did order from them I just felt like we lived on those items because the cupboards were so full because everything was in packs of 10 or 12.

I haven't used them for about 2 years now - the problem I have is that they don't show the ingredients so with DH being onion intolerant, DD allergic to citrus and artificial colours of everything and me with my gluten free meals it is not easy to see what is in each packet - the only things I could buy are the household items and things like pasta and rice etc

I think you can get good bargains when out shopping anyway and at least you don't buy extra to bulk the order up to gt it into free delivery!!

Sorry for all the posts I should have multi-quoted:rotfl:

Have weighed myself and I have lost 1lb:)

I am pleased but maybe if I didn't have an almond ice cream last night to help my sore throat (hayfever) it might have been more:rotfl:

Hope you are all doing well:T
  • EE :j to the weight loss.

I'm still NST and not struggling at all to be honest. I am super motivated just now. My birthday is this month and I will be 49  so next birthday is the big 50 and I do not want to be fat and fifty. I swore I would not be fat and 40 and I failed miserably. I have also spent the majority of my 40's way way overweight. So I asked myself do you want to do the same for your 50's MIT and I answered myself with a resounding NO !!

Been eating the speedy soup and I am not loving it. I blitzed it but it's not as smooth as I would like. It fills a space though and is bursting with fresh veg so nice and healthy. Just did a freezer inventory again and still tonnes of food there. I still have 96 meals :o. Meal plan for this week is

Sat- Lamb (me) DS sausages DD work
Sun- all going to mu Aunts for dinner
Mon- stew and potatoes and veg ( stew already cooked)
    Tues- Shepherds pie and veg
Wed- Chicken and ham stir fry- DS can have chicken dippers and beans
    Thurs- HM SW chicken curry
Fri- fish fingers/ sausages/crispy chicken and chips (SW chips for me)

To make that all I need is a bag of frozen peppers or 1 fresh one. I also need milk, yeast, cheese, crisps and diluting juice. I will get all this in Aldi's tomorrow.

I have bought in loads of ingredients to make bread. I am allowed a 60g roll per day for a B choice so I am going to have a go at making them and see how they turn out. I have a breadmaker so it will make the dough for me and I can then cook the rolls in the oven. This will hopefully save me some money. It will in the short term for sure as I have everything in that I need. Just need some more yeast. Lunches will be rolls, I have cold meat and salad stuff in.DD loves cheese so I need to buy that. We can have fruit and I have breakfast bars in for snacks. The crisps are for the evening for a wee treat. I also have a load of savoury rice so DD and I can have that for lunches with some ham and chicken chopped through. If I am very focused then I reckon I can get through until the end of the month with minimum pends for food. The kids are getting used to there being no snacks in and if they are hungry then they can make sandwiches or toast :D

I worked this morning and earned £30. I already had £30 in my purse. I would like that to take me out tonight with bessie mate to a 40th, do the wee bit shopping I need tomorrow, get my Mum and my Aunt flowers and pay DS's school for at least some of the week. Big ask but I will have a go. Am just thinking I might bake a cake for going into my Aunts as I got 12 cake mixes from Approved Foods and that would save me for the flowers.

Don't know if you guys saw the Sun offer this week. You can get 5 from 8 vouchers from the Sun and claim free food at Iceland's. I'm going to check it out and if it is genuine then I will buy 5 papers and get all that grub for free. Now none of the food is healthy but my kids would love the treat so I will go for it. Free food is free food after all.

Am away to watch extreme couponing :rotfl:

LOL MIT - that actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. What does it taste like? Anything in particular? That would worry knowing all those veg went in but I couldn't taste at least one of them. My luck it would taste of the thing I didn't like - lentils :D
  • Tastes tomatoey. Puts me in mind of minestrone a wee bit. It's alright and any weeks I am struggling to get weight down I will make it but it is not a favourite

  • What a great wee night with my mucker. We put the world to rights. Talked about everyone :rotfl: ( as you do) decided that it was time I got a new man and had many many long vodkas and a wee dance. Smashing. That's what life is all about. I also had 3 bits of pakora and 2 egg pieces so not too bad :D

  • Glad you had a good night!

I don't blend the speed soup, But I don't add the canned green lentils either. I just have it like a chunky minestrone but with chilli flakes not pasta shapes! Xx
