Just catching up - I know money is tight but you do sound a bit happier with life and you are doing really well on your weight loss. xx
  • I'm doing good LAM. life is pretty even just now :D

    So tonight I have eaten
    • slice of cake
      2 blue riband
      1 milky way
:o. Not such a goody two shoes today then !!

Poor Martin is getting a roasting on facebook from some eejits. Some people have a right chip on their shoulders don't they. He works tirelessy to help everyone and gets it thrown in his face all the time. Such a shame/]. Well I love him anyway so I'm sure that'll suffice :rotfl:.

Spent a fair bit today so needless to say I am in my overdraft again. £48 on petrol and £3.80 on postage for the phone I sold. No unnecessary spends though so that's okay.

My ex father in law appeared tonight with cake from the golden wedding and a lovely big bunch of flowers for me. This was a nice gesture as it was a thank you for allowing the kids to go to their party. They really have my kids in a time warp. My DD will be 20 next month. If she wanted to go somewhere I couldn't stop her if I tried. However as I said it was a nice gesture.

My friends cancelled on me and thankfully it was before I hoovered so that saved me the effort :rotfl:

    Hope everyone is well xx

Also I am not too scared going forward with potentially 2 kids in further education as I know somehow I will manage :D All thanks to the lovely Mr Lewis ( who I love lol)

  • Evening folks. Well the eating is out of control and I need to try and get back on track. Aunt Flo is here and a voracious sweet tooth comes along with her #murcia body is on hold

Spent £3.70 in work and then £13.80 in Morrisons on way home on healthy things like cookies and cakes :o. Bought 2 tv dinners for DS and I and I am remembering why I never buy them. Mine was cheesy potatoes but I swear they are lying whole in my stomach - yuk!

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. I'm working on Saturday morning but then I have a wee party on Saturday night. It's a late St Paddy's day celebration. Had to be late as one of the couples who go to these nights were in the Caribbean. Gosh life is hard for some folks :rotfl: Repeat after me 'I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous'

So tonight has been a lazy one but the day was hard. I honestly reckon I should get paid double what I do for my job. It can test my patience at times. So difficult working with the public at times. My post is a relatively new one and I reckon it'll be a burnout kind of job. I'm surrounded by a great team thankfully who all pull together to help me achieve what needs to be done but jeez I have difficulty sometimes keeping my cool. People can have such chips on their shoulders and also there are so many many people in the world who will not take any responsibility for any of their own actions and blame everyone and anyone for their misfortune. We are all responsible for ourselves. Some people get better breaks than others but hey that's just luck. Anyway, rant over. I just get fed up biting my tongue at times :)

    Hope everyone is well xx

  • Evening folks. I wonder how many of us are watching sports relief and counting our blessings tonight. I might be skint but at least we are fed, we have a home and we have water. So sad to think that so many people do not even have the basics. Makes me feel really greedy and ungrateful. Not a bad thing to be reminded every so often how lucky we actually are.

I managed to spend £7 in work today between lunch and sports relief day. I have however donated a wee £10 tonight as I was sobbing watching this and reckoned a £10 would make no difference to me but would make a massive difference to someone.

Diet was out the window again today but I'll get back on track tomorrow after watching this tonight. I can't justify eating the way I do when so many are starving. Hopefully help the weightloss :o

So I'm working tomorrow. Could have waited till mid week but although I resent my weekend being interrupted I really can't stand going during the week to do the work. If DS and DD get proper part time work then I am going to stop doing the weekend work as it will be too much for me alone and I have had enough tbh. Maybe the wrong thing to do but my day job exhausts me. I'll see. I started the part time work to pay off my CC and initially it always did. I never spent it and each week I paid it off as soon as I earned it. I then lost all my working tax and my child tax credit when DD left school, Ex hubby stopped paying maintenance and Council tax stopped being reduced as DD was working. In real terms I lost £400+ per month income. I have had to use this money just to live as in addition to all that DS changed schools and added £150+ to my living expenses every month. No wonder I'm skint

The light at the end of my tunnel is not very bright just now. Am not feeling sorry for myself but am now determined to make more effort, This programme tonight is really affecting me and my conscience is not clear. We still spend too much and we are too greedy. It stops now xx

Am away to do a menu plan xx

  • Good afternoon. So much for my rousing speech last night re spends and eating. Can I start tomorrow??

Was starving after work and had to go shopping so got a £2.99 lunch box from KFC for myself. Then went to ASDA. Now last night I did a menu plan and wrote a list which came to about £40. So how the F did I end up £95.56 in ASDA today :eek: I am a shopaholic. Help me :o.

In my defence I bought 2 tops for myself at £6 each. I also bought loo rolls, bold liquid, cereal and 2 febreze car fresheners as I had vouchers for them all. I then was charged for 3 cereals and not 2  and got my money back for that immediately but have now noticed that I was charged £3.98 for the car fresheners when they were meant to be £2. So I will take them back when I am next in and get £8 back. Honestly, I really do despair with myself. However I now have enough shampoo, washing powder/liquid and dishwasher tablets to do me until the summer :D. I also have about 30 loo rolls. I need to try harder.

I baked when I came back and I have 24 cupcakes cooling just now. I will take a few tonight to the dinner party for dessert, the kids can have a couple and I'll freeze the rest. I also have 2lbs of mince in the slow cooker and I will make 2 large shepherds pies and 2 individual ones from that. I bought cheap rice the other week and have had to bin it as it is vile. It comes out all clumpy and still crunchy even though all the water was absorbed. Some things you just need to pay slightly more for. The Tilda rice was on 2 for £2 today so I picked that up.

So after deductions my ASDA bill was £77.93 and I spent £2.99 on KFC. I will be sharing taxis tonight but I have a bottle of holiday booze that I will take in with me and I bought soda and lime earlier. We are ordering in chinese so will probs spend at least £20 tonight :( but I am looking forward to it as they are great company. It'll be a late and boozy one :D

So all in all a nice wee day. Hope everyone else is ok xx
