Heckle away SBO it wouldn't be the same without you
Bit of a spendy day today unfortunately. I needed a blouse for interview tomorrow as I have loads of tops but thought a nice blouse would be better. So whilst buying the blouse I decided to buy a jacket as it is about 4 years ( possibly 5 ) since I bought one and I just thought well I need to get one anyway so I might as well get it now and look smart tomorrow. I also desperately needed shoes. I hate shoes and buy them rarely. Strange for a woman to hate shoes but I truly do. I decided to buy boots and got a pair from BHS that are nice and comfortable and will do me all winter. Where I live it is essential to buy boots. So I then got a £5 off card for bon marche and bought new bra and knickers . Hopefully no-one will be seeing them but at least I will know I am perfect from the skin out. So all in all I spent £140 . To be honest though I really really needed everything that I bought so am not overly unhappy about the spending.
I then got a box of chicken from the butchers. 5kg for £25. Sounds a lot but I will get 8 meals for us from that as there were 22 chicken breasts in it and they are huge. I also bought 10 butchers burgers for £8.99. Sounds extravagant but the burgers are so big and tasty that 1 each is enough for us. So another 3 meals. 11 meals for £34 so not too bad and is honestly the best of meat.
DS has just got home from being out for dinner with his Dad. DD was annoyed as she wasn't asked to go but DS had got in touch with his Dad as he hadn't seen him or heard from him for 7 weeks  and he kindly :mad: took him for dinner. Would suit the !!!! better if he paid some money for him to help me feed him. But hey I am not climbing on that high horse tonight.
I watched that on benefits and proud last night and it made my blood boil. I am sure I have seen the one who was the newly wed on another programme, might have been Jeremy Kyle. Where do folks like that get off?? One had said she would work if she was able to earn enough to pay her rent, bills, food etc and then have £500 in her hand each week!!! I don't even have £500 in my hand for the month and I have worked since I was bloody 12 yrs old.
Anyway tomorrow is my interview and my stomach is starting to churn. I haven't prepared for it at all other than buy nice things to wear :rotfl:. I'm going to sit down now though and jot down some notes. xx

You can't let it get you down - those programmes make it seem worse than it is (at least that's what I keep telling myself!). I think those on long term benefits (and i am not refering to those who have a genuine need through caring for someone or disability) have no real aspirations, no real morales, and certainly are not the kind of person I want to be. I wouldn't spend any quality time with anyone from that programme. That's not snobby, it's purely about surrounding yourself with like minded people. I'd hang with no end of DFWs but sponging, lazy, entitled-mindsets? No thanks!
Phew, okay that was a long winded way of saying they are not worthy of your annoyance!. I am hopeful that we are going to see some radical changes to the benefits system in the coming years - even if it comes from necessity. It really does have to stop in its current form.

Hok3y I agree completely. People are really getting annoyed at financing that type of persons lifestyle. I'm with you in helping those who really need help and would happily pay for them. Mainly as I am thankful not to be in that position myself. I'm over it now but tune in next week for my rant about shoplifters as I'm sure I will be on the high horse regarding that as well
Well I am all organised. I have studied my form inside and outside. I have further evidence and examples to spout at a second's notice. I have lovely clothes to wear and I have a lovely prompt sheet all ready for action. Just need to manage a good night's sleep and I am good to go .
