  • Good morning folks. I hope everyone is up and raring to go.

I have just updated my accounts and they're not overly scary. Not sure how much I will manage to overpay this month but I will at least continue with my extra payment per week challenge. Hopefully I will have some cleaning money each week that I can throw at that. I think this will be the last month where I will have full on costs for DS for school as next month there are 2 weeks holidays and then after that he will be on study leave and then will be leaving once and for all. I remember making a plan where I would be debt free by that day :o Hmmm

So I am about to whiz round my house and tidy up. I will get DS to dust and hoover whilst I am out shopping ( he'll be delighted I'm sure :rotfl:) and I will get myself made presentable to head out shopping. I'm ridiculously looking forward to it as I rarely shop for myself.

I hope everyone has a smashing day and I'll be back later xx

  • Evening folks. I have had such a lovely day with my pal. We went to the Matalan outlet store and I got loads for £86 but that included 3 dresses for DD and a skirt, 3 tops for DS and a white dress shirt.
I got 2 dresses, 1 trousers,2 vest tops, 2 t-shirts and 4 blouses. Oh and knickers :rotfl: The place was amazing. I bought one of the dresses 2 sizes smaller and that is my next goal. I had lots of fun shopping today :D

My pal has talked me into going to see a rock band with her on Friday night. They actually sound pretty good. They're called Halestorm and I like a bit of rock. It'll be fun

I have a HUGE pot of soup cooking and also a big pot of mince. I also have 5lbs of mince defrosting to make spag bol and chilli tomorrow whilst I am out. Freezer will be well stocked again. I'll get some chicken dishes cooked during the week as well and hopefully be organised for most of the month.

Just cleared out DS's floordrobe as he is out and OMG he has so many clothes. I keep buying him stuff because I think he has nothing but I will not need to shop for him again for quite a while. I had no intentions of doing this tonight but when I saw his 3 new tops lying on the floor I just had to. I'm so glad I did as I found about 20 pairs of boxers and 37 !! yes 37 pairs of socks :rotfl:. Found a few things I might be able to sell as well so it's all good.

All in all a nice day with smashing company. I spent too much but I don't do that very often on myself so I am letting myself off with it,

Another one bites the dust - good riddance Overdraft :T:T:T

Hope you had a wonderful time shopping too and got some bargains from your budget :)

Cracking work MiT - great to see how much the DFD has come forward :T:T
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Hi Ali I got loads of bargains but bust the budget a wee bit. Never mind as I will be naked soon if I don't get some things to wear x

Both kids out today. DD at a dancing competition and DS away to Glasgow with his friends to do some photography. He is really excited. My boy is growing up

I have 2 hours before I leave for work. My spa day was cancelled so I have just spent the day in the house. I am on wash load no2, I have cooked 2lbs mince as spag bol and 2lbs as chilli. Made DS 1lb of spag bol with no 'stuff' in it. So hopefully now got loads of meals for the month once these are fully cooked. I made a chickpea dahl loaf as well which is free and actually looks fabby.

Can't decide whether to clean, iron or finish my cardigan. Ok no brainer considering I am doing a 5 hr cleaning stint tonight. Cardigan getting finished and telly is on :D. 2 Hour chill out

Very dreary here today but I'm not going out except to work so am not overly bothered. Have a lovely Sunday guys xx

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • It was SA. We had a lovely wee day.

Another wee cleaning stint under my belt tonight. Got one every Sunday this month so a nice wee £200 to be earned :D. I'm on a roll guys. Only problem is I am so busy I hardly get any time to come on here xx

Matalan outlet sounds amazing - I find when I go to the Matalan shop near me I either like everything and spend loads or nothing at all. It sounds like you bagged yourself some bargains.
    January spends - £587.58
  • Hi Milann. I reckon the outlet would be the same. Either loads you like or nothing. Depends on your luck. I was lucky :D

Another 2lbs lost tonight so I am very happy. 40lbs in total. :j:j I feel fab. One issue I have though is that one arm is thinning quicker that the other so smaller sizes fit on one side and not the other. Bloody strange and very annoying.

I have started on the asda card. I got a £45 bonus from cleaning this week I wasn't expecting so I have just paid it off of the card. This has saved me £141.59 in interest :D

I'm working tomorrow night doing cleaning so that'll be another £30. In saying that the weather is crazy here just now. I had to dig my car out of the snow this morning. Didn't get to work until 10.45 which made me very popular......not. Do I care? Not one jot!!

Very tired tonight as very late in bed last night due to DS being out at a gig in Glasgow. This was his first ever night out in town and I was meant to collect him but ended up trapped and unable to get out due to the mega snowfall and living at the top of a hill. This meant DS had to get last train home alone but he wasn't getting a signal so I couldn't get a hold of him. He had no jacket with him and I was getting in to full blown panic mode. It all worked out though as he eventually called me, got train and my cousin who has a 4 by 4 collected him from station and brought him home for me, which was really kind of him. Baptism of fire for his first night out. He had a blast though so next time will be easier.

So heading off to bed as shattered xx

Congrats on the 40lb, you skinny minx! And on the chunk off the Asda card.

Re the 37 pairs of socks, that's simply amazing, 37 odd socks I would have believed, but pairs

Great on the 40lbs MIT. And amazing on how much interest saved relative to amount paid off.
I was wondering whether you'd be better paying off your debt first before your next home improvements?
When I started reading your diary I went back to the beginning and couldn't understand why your debt had gone up when you were doing so well bringing it down but it was because of home improvements several times over the years. I think you were below £10k at one point. Must have cost you a fair bit extra in interest?
Sorry to be negative. I'll shut up now.
