Monarch sale

Booked flights yesterday with Monarch from Luton to Corfu for next July as 'email form Martin Money Matters alerted to a sale ending. £25 off per person and there are a lot of us going for a wedding. The sale finished 10 am. After the sale time someone else needed to book and it was £38 per couple cheaper. I feel really cheated and thought I would join this forum to alert others to not just believe what you read in Martins emails and do some research although it was right as we did get £25 off per adult of the price at that time just the next hour it goes down. I thought monarch were a reputable company but now joining this forum I see that this has happened before, so beware.

If you look over on the flight delay compensation monarch thread you'll see they are airmiles away from a 'reputable' company.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I am pretty sure thats illegal to advertise a sale and then offer a lower price immediately afterwards.0

thank you for comments. I have only joined forum today because of this, before only just received the email from Martin money matters and as the sale was on there just booked the flights. I can see what you mean reading other threads.
Hope everything goes alright in July.
It doesn't seem right to me either but customer services are not open until Monday so I will be ringing for a chat!0 -
Are you comparing the price without add on options?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The price was for exactly the same flight, bags etc. We checked three bookings we made for various ages of people putting in exactly the same details and all would have been between 38 and 57 pounds cheaper.
I did not rely on a post as I didn't know about the forum. I only read the newsletter sent from Martin every week and so was relying on his advise in the newsletter about the sale, and just thinking as it was in there it would be good. My fault for not checking further, I suppose.0 -

Its not your fault for not checking anything! A sale is a sale. They cant advertise a sale and then drop the price immediately afterwards.
Threaten them with trading standards.0 -
on the original tickets booked, how many names were on the booking or were they booked as individual couples
The way the airline systems work is that if you book for multiple people you all go into the lowest fare class with that many seats available. So if the airline had 5 seats left @ £25 and the next fare class was £35, if you asked for 6 seats it would give you 6 x £35, if someone goes in after you and asks for 4 seats they will likely get the 3 x £250 -
I worked in retail management for a number of years and our prices would go up by about 20% on a particular day, around a week before our sale started where we would knock 25% off for example before putting them back down post-sale. This was all out of my control by the way.
Its a tactic used in every industry and similar things look to be going on here.0 -

yes we know thet do that.
In this case thet dropped the price when the sale finished, so it wasn't a sale.0
