That's what EE claims, but it's not true. By switching off these thousands of transmitters, EE has created coverage blackspots, particularly in London, where there was strong coverage before the merger of Orange and T-Mobile.

Bear in mind that MBNL computer generate coverage maps so in their eyes it is a duplicate site or will be covered by a T-Mo mast. Of course they know there are going to be some coverage black spots. This will be fixed by upgraded antennas, new site builds and moving existing sites. But even that's not going to fix all blackspots.

Like i said before, some areas will get coverage again, others wont't.

I'm not an EE spokesperson btw. I'm just explaining what's going on.

Good luck trying to cancel a contract with them on the terms that there is no signal, I've been trying for months now and they're still trying to get me to pay a £180 cancellation fee, so for now I'm stuck with mobile broadband that I cannot use!

It's not just some coverage blackspots but loads, even in central London. I used to be on one2one before it became T-Mobile and before it even had coverage outside the M25. It had the best coverage in London, but I subsequently switched to Orange 15 years ago. The two networks used to have excellent coverage in London, particularly for 3G, but the combined coverage of both networks is now a disgrace.

I know, but your information is nevertheless very helpful!

You could argue that, by deliberately decommissioning thousands of transmitters and carelessly creating coverage blackspots which did not exist when you took out the contract, they are failing to carry out the service with reasonable care and skill in breach of Section 13 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982.

I will be dropping EE after about 12 years as soon as this contract is up, great internet but useless at calls, espcailly in North London where a decent signal is very elusive.

I shall use that in my next call to them!

It's probably worth mentioning that EE's plans are changing very soon with new supposedly improved plans. Not just talking 4G plans here.

I know this is unrelated but thought i'd mention it for anyone looking to buy an EE tariff in the next couple of days.

How soon are we talking here?

My SIM Only contact with T-Mobile has now expired, but was thinking of continuing on a monthly basis while I look around for something better.

According to their press release - tomorrow, although this mainly concerns PAYG on EE 4G.
