buyer won't update their delivery address

Interesting discussion. I didn't ask for a confirmed address from my buyer just a correct delivery one when they paid, ie the paypal address is the only one I will post to. Have told them to add it when paying but all I keep getting from them is the same identical message 'send to this new address, I can't update my Ebay details as I have no computer just a phone'. My original question was 'why won't they update and can they actually update using a phone' as it all seems a bit odd why they haven't updated, if they can find the time to keep emailing me with the address they can surely find the time to update Ebay/paypal details. How do I know this isn't a hacked account/scam? They still haven't paid and I've not heard from them today.
hi, don't know about the phone update, but as you say how hard is it to find a computer to use to update, friend, family, work, library, internet caf!. get your payment 1st, then deal with the posting issue buy contacting the ebay service team, if needed0 -
Hi, ok I think I'm making progress. Buyer has updated Ebay address but not paypal, so will the correct address now show on the payment made via the invoice I sent? If not, can they add the new address via the invoice when they pay or do they have to update their Paypal profile first?0

you should also be able to see the sent invoice (somewhere) but I would say yes as ebay has sent the invoice, pp only get involved when payment is made, but make sure the addresses match when/if payment is made. just wait as not everyone reacts instantly for various reasons, they may be waiting for funds. pp address can be updated at time of payment.0

I often send to addresses that are different from Paypal or Ebay when requested I do understand the risks my items are low value. I have yet to have any bad feedback from it (fingers crossed)
If you don't feel happy doing it though, Don't. Just explain a final time to the buyer and offer a refund and cancel the sale.0 -
Well, I did think I was making advances. Latest message is they have updated both Ebay and Paypal but they haven't paid because they don't want me to send to old address! I can't understand why they don't just click through checkout and see which address comes up on their paypal payment. I've just tried sending them another invoice but the old delivery address still comes up, surely the new one should be showing?0

When they pay through Paypal, they get to choose the address they want it sent to.
I think your buyer is playing you around.0 -

Frankly I'd be looking to open an NPB soon, this buyer sounds a bit too dim to actually proceed with this purchase.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Personally I fear a case of dim and dimmer. Sorry OP but you don't seem to grasp this at all and not does your buyer, are you related?0
