Do you have a cable similar to the one posted, if so, try and find a slot on the back of the PC to plug it in, plug the other end into the router, remove the wireless dongle, and see if you can get on the net.
you may have to do a start, run, cmd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
I suggest you do this before doing a system restore, because the system restore will probably stop the wireless working, so you need to make sure you can get on the net with a wired connection before proceeding.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

This probably won't help, but could you post the results of:
start, run, cmd
ipconfig /all >c:\1.txt
notepad c:\1.txt
just to see if there is anything funny about your tcpip config.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Any helpif i had known then what i know now0 -
Not sure about this bit:
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 194.168.4.100
that's normally handled by the router alone (i.e 192.168.0.1). See if you can see 192.168.4.100 mentioned in the tcpip settings for the network adapter.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Where it says dns servers-194.168.4.100
192.168.0.1
Both these sets of figures are thereif i had known then what i know now0 -
Try deleting 194.168.4.100, this is NTL's dns server, but the router should be picking that up on your PC's behalf. If anything stops working, just put it back in again.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
