He ain't going to be looking at the curtains if he's been needing a wheelbarrow these past 14 months:o - book a travelodge and let him spend the rest in Rigby and Pellier for his ideal outfit for you- it will mean much more to him than a four poster- and you get to keep the lingerie:jMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Agree with ailuro2 four poster bed wont mean that much to him.
How about taking a trip up north to the Scottish Highlands. I was up there last weekend with the girlfriend and I am gagging to go back. You won’t find a more romantic scene.
I am sure you could get up there if you have a car or by train (up to fort William) , hotel + good food & drink for £200.
Give it a go.0 -
We love the Oxford Four Spires Hotel. It is situated right on the river and 15 minute walk from the shops.
It has four poster beds, balcony, piano bar, a la carte restaurant, pool, sauna, etc. A night there at the weekend is very reasonable (can't remember how much) definately under 150 quid though (for you both) and you get gorgeous meal, bed and breakfast.

I'm not 100% if they have any "proper" 4 posters and they're quite expensive, but their rooms are really stunning - not a chance he'll forget it in a hurry. Also, the two restaurants are lovely and they have champagne on tap0 -

it does look amazing and would certainly fit the bill but out of my budget unfortunately, real max for two nights would be £200. might need to look in an area just out of london but not particulary trendy area!0 -
We stayed at the old rectory in iron bridge it was £100 for the night had a four poster and a jacuzzi in the room and its on the ground floor next to the breakfast room which may be of some help to you.
It only has about 6 or 7 rooms and this was the best they also give you a 10% off card for your next stay.
sorry cant remenber the web addy but well worth a look.
