Doesn't sound like they practise what they preach does it?
Could this be another case of a solicitors' firm licensing their name to a debt collector tied to a PPC? (I say this as it seems to be quite a common practice going by threads on here.)0 -
The naughty part of my brain just thought of what I'd do if I had to send a version of Daisy's response letter to a dumb solicitor.
I wouldn't sign with a squiggle, I'd be tempted to sign with a cartoonish picture of a gentleman's naughty bits.
Or a rooster.
Depending on my mood at the time

I received a letter from this solicitor co in birmingham and noticed that it was signed by JMW itself not with a particular name of a solicitor. So I will just continue to ignore this scammers?0

It really depends on what the letter says!! But "ignore" is not recommended advice in general nowadays.0 -

Never ignore solicitors letters. Send the letter that you will find at post 8 of this thread. If you need further help please start your own thread as trying to advise two different people on the same thread just leads to confusion for everyone.

PS - signing off letters with the name of the firm is standard practice in most solicitors' offices.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

As Daisy says, this is normal practice with any Solicitor's letter. And no-one is telling you to ignore it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It would appear JMW Solicitors in Manchester are a new link in the chain of letters usually received from UKPC/DRC/Zenith. They are now writing to those who have received UKPC invoices threatening court action if the outstanding amount isn't paid.
Has anyone heard of them or know of any people who have received letters from them?
I had a letter two days ago from JMW solicitors, very worrying..
I parked at work (nhs car park) in a staff car park that I pay £10 a month for, only my permit was not displayed and I am still being fined.
I have stood firm through the contless number of letters from dept recovery since January and now I dont know what to do now I have had a solicitors letter, I feel sick with worry but why should I pay when I have done nothing wrong apart from not displaying my permit.
Can you help with any advice at all
Thank you
