This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Thank goodness it's Friday!
Am hoping for an on time finish at work today and then some R&R time tonight. Sofa, a film and a glass of wine may be the order of the day.
Am desperately trying to get DH onboard with decluttering, and as the weather forecast looks dire for tomorrow, am getting to set to start him on the living room bookcases. They should look lovely but where there are spaces on top of smaller books, he just piles stuff on top of it. Yesterday I looked in one bookcase and could see specialist insoles from a pair of running shoes which have never been used, a Rubik cube, a magic set and loads of other stuff! So the rule will be only the books that fit will go in the bookcase and nothing will be piled on top .... let's see how I get on.
Better get going so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Thank goodness it's Friday indeed, even though the title of the thread says Thursday - very confusing!!
In service day for us today and then a week off for half term. Have decided to go down south for a few days on Sunday to visit family and friends, wont have chance once it gets nearer the moving date.
I have packed one box from the kitchen so feeling very pleased with myself! Only about another 30 to go. I need to feel under pressure before I can really get stuck in so it will be the last week I suppose!
Cold here this morning but dry again so should get DDs bedding out on the line when she gets up and I can wash it. No idea what's for tea, will go and look in the freezer. Take care. XX0 -

Good morning everyone :hello:
I'm feeling a bit sad today but I am glad it's Friday. I'm currently sat here with my light box on trying to alleviate some symptoms and it's so bright I can almost believe it's a summer day again. I hope it works.
Hubby has gone off to work. He's booked next Monday off so he can have a long weekend and he's really looking forward to it. He said he was starting to have dreams about work so he needs a little break from it. It will be so lovely to have him home, I really miss him.
We ended up having a naughty chinese takeaway last night as I couldn't get my act together to cook so we definitely have to use the mince I defrosted today. I still think we will have spag bol as it is very popular in this house. Hubby takes over the cooking on the weekend so I can have a break. I sometimes find it very difficult to think about what to have for dinner, even though I do make mealplans, and to be honest I sometimes get bored with the whole process and just want to make beans on toast.
DD10 is still happy in school and has had no further trouble apart from a little bit of name calling. DD12 has been my companion for the last couple of days as she had a bad cold but seems a lot better today so she's going back to school. DD13 has decided to limit the time she spends on her ipod as she forgot to sort out her ingredients for food tech yesterday as she was watching videos on youtube. Luckily she managed to avoid a detention but it was a warning to get a bit more organized.
Tesco will be delivering shortly so I need to go and get dressed so on that note I will leave you. Take care and as always, gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -

I only live a mile or so from here and we all call it Westward Blow! as it always seems to be windy and raining there, especially this time of year!0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Wet, windy and much cooler here this morning. Had a horrendous downpour in the early hours this morning, was so heavy and loud it woke me up, sounded like the roof was going to cave in!
DH and DS1 up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken pieces, chips, beans and salad for the menfolk and I had mushroom omlette and salad. Not sure about tonight's dinner but will organise it when I do the food shopping this morning. Did get some jobs done yesterday - had another 1 of those days where I couldn't settle to anything - but did iron everything that was dry enough, but there's still some more to wash, dry and iron - will continue with that today. Will be heading into town to visit the bank, do food shopping, need to stop off at caravan en route to collect the coats - we've left them all in the caravan as up until now we've not needed them! Have a list of several other jobs that I need to tackle today too, looks like being a busy day.
DH and I are out on both Saturday and Sunday attending caravan events - so won't be home much over the weekend - so need to get organised!
Have a great Friday everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Sadly we lost my darling dad yesterday afternoon, he was surrounded by his family and the end was very peaceful but we are all heartbroken, have left dd in bed as she spent most of the day sobbing, she was the apple of her grandads eye.
Thanks for being here xx0 -
Morning :hello:
I've got the beginning of a cold tooUp til the last couple of years, everyone around could catch a cold and I'd just get a bit sniffly. But lately, colds really knock me sideways. I've just taken a couple of cold and flu tablets, I'm not letting this one get a grip
I've finished my blanket :j I've worked out how much a row costs to crochet, and also timed myself doing one row. I haven't counted how many rows there are yet, bit scared to work out the cost
I've been lazy this week, I just can't seem to get going. I've been in a bad mood too. We're supposed to be going shopping this morning but I can't be bothered - I'm going to be very brave and let mr tru go by himself, lol.
So sorry about your dad redruby xxxBulletproof0 -

Oh I am so sorry Ruby xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
