I pm'd a BG yesterday, and have today tweeted to the @MSE_Forum requesting @MartinSLewis DM me with a view to discussing the increase in this rate, so fingers crossed :money:

I'm not generally a rule breaker and realise 'rules are rules' but sometimes things need debating (in a nice way) and I wouldn't want anyone to go out and spend money unnecessarily, but in situations like this where numbers of us are buying the Lotto ticket(s) anyway, it would be great to know if and where there are other comps that we could have the chance to win on (with no further outlay) :money:

So far it does seem like we're all kind've saying the same thing. Suppose we let this run for a bit and hope others will say what they think. If it looks like we mostly agree about wanting to scrap or up the £1.53 thingy, I'll post a linky in Site Feedback.

    Good stuff guys

Edit: or someone else can if they like - I'm not territorial about it :D

Edit again - duh!: Brill Cornish. What you said is even betterer. Thanks TONS for taking this on for us XXXXXXXXXXXX

  • Well more kudos to you Cornishpasty for taken up that challenge for all us MSE'ers xxx

IMHO I think that is surely the spirit of MSE, Quote: "...it would be great to know if and where there are other comps that we could have the chance to win on (with no further outlay)"

But is there a limit in the other thread that Jaibaby posted? I tried clicking to enter, but it had a weird sign in thing that I couldn't be bothered to do. Do you not think that as we already self-police the good comps from the bad, that this would apply to higher priced entry fees too?

Thanks Cornishpasty for taking this up. As many others have said a lot of people already buy a ticket for the lottery so they ave no extra expense to enter many of the comps available at the moment.
If you entered every comp that was a premium rate text or phone number on this board you are unlikely to be saving money on returns to cost- but we are all adults and have the freedom to choose to enter or not.
My vote is to raise the limit all posts show what it costs to enter it is then up to the individual, which and how many they want to enter.

I registered, there's no limit, there's a special board for all comps over £1.53. The forum isn't very active though. And I know I'll never remember to keep checking it :rotfl:

I really hope the limit does not rise above £2. I would hate to see the comp board full of pay to enter competitions personally.

    xxx

    Edit:

If the limit was raised above the £2 limit I would be asking for a sub section so they could all be posted in there & off the main board so it's your choice if you want to spend to enter

I think that there is a difference between pay to enter competitions and competitions that require a purchase of another product in order to enter, for example if there was a competition on washing powder, that would cost more than £1.53, but we all have to buy washing powder anyway, even if we did not normally buy that brand.

Even if the product were say furniture, costing hundreds. I don't think any of us would go out to buy a sofa, if they didn't need one. If we were allowed to post them, perhaps it would be better if purchase required comps had their own board (but that is going to be another battle :rotfl:)
