Assuming Chrome does login to your gmail account OK, put this in the address bar: chrome://settings/passwords
Then find your gmail login address, click on it and select "Show" where the password is indicated by a line of dots.

Thank you victor2.. that's really usefull, unfortunately in this case, it would appear I've not used a gmail log in on this laptop...

I think it must have been on my old laptop :(

Thanks tyllwyd... but the step 1 says 'go to your playstore icon' I don't have one lol

OK, so Android market has not updated to Google play? It should have done it automatically about a year ago, I think.

If it was me (and I don't want to be responsible for you losing your important texts and pictures so don't do anything anything just on my say so!) I think I'd check for an update to Android. Go to settings, about my phone - what version of Android are you using?

It looks to me as if your phone pretty out of date. Are you sure it is a Samsung galaxy SII - Wikipedia says that started out with Android 2.3 (that's the firmware) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II

I think you might have a Samsung Galaxy S, but it hasn't been updated from 2.1 to 2.2. That would explain why it is still Google market not Google play.

I'm afraid I'm right at the end of my understanding, so hopefully someone else will be able to help. I have a feeling though that you will have problems unless you update your phone, but you need to make sure you back everything up before you do anything else.

You could always use the web browser to access Facebook. No app is required.

To remove a Google account on your phone try Settings -> Accounts section -> select Google -> select account -> Menu -> remove account.

To add a Google account on your phone try Settings -> Accounts section -> add account.

    No Google Play app needed.

Yes ... I use the web browser for Facebook etc, what I'm actually wanting to do is post photos from my gallery to FB.. usually when you click on share, you get an FB option.. but mine has disappeared.

'Remove Account' I get a message saying I can only remove an account by resetting to factory settings

'Add Account' i get two options. either 'Don't have a google account? Create or 'Already have an account?. Sign in' but I STILL don;t know my password ..lol

Ahh well I've managed to upgrade my phone, ( it needed 2 upgrades ) so at least it works a bit better now....... I just can't fathom the google mail, account bit.......... back to the drawing board.. lol

Thanks to everyone for the their help !:T

Create a new one then :-)

You should be able to upload photos to Facebook via the website as well. You can't use the share functionality in the gallery though.
