Not a fan of the new version either. I find the conversation display confusing, on first sight I'm not always sure who has sent to whom in a group, and it seems as though I may have sent something on to an unintended recipient. It's just as annoying whether via my laptop or iPAD.
Will just have to stick with it, but after more than a week of constant use would have thought I would be used to it by now.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

O/P here yet again. I'm now floundering with htis new layout. Via cog wheel/settings, I think I have stopped the conversation thing, will just have to see when I exchange emails with someone. Also I have spaced out the screen more, to see if it is easier on the eye, despite what I said originally.
As for someone saying "it had reverted back to what it was before", it happened to me too, I'd forgotten to click APPLY when I had made the changes.

ME AGAIN!
If I never give another tip, this one must surely be the best.
Ref the new layout. Click the cog wheel at the top right.
Click Settings
Click View Messages
At the bottom, change to BASIC and Apply
You will find the there is an instant improvement to reading, print is stronger/darker. Things are returned. You are able to scroll up and down, (no arrows, it's words, but the facility is there.)
Just to be sure I hadn't missed anything, I reverted and went back to the newer version, but no, I think I have it all covered. Don't forget to space out more. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Well done.
I've just reset to the Basic option and it looks like I am back to a straightforward email facility.
If you want to print it looks as if you have to click on Printabe View which opens up a new window plus Printer options.
My partner will be delighted with this as she hates the new "improved" version.0 -

Original Poster here with minor hiccup. RESOLVED !
On the assumption that you have now almost become accustomed to the new yahoo mail and followed the route to BASIC FORMAT, you will have found that when composing a new email, the drop down menu of email addresses from your Contact List fails to appear. In fact on delving deeper I discovered this:-
BASIC FORMAT
Auto fill for contacts is not available in this format. You must click on the "+" sign following the TO line...this will bring up the box for all of your contacts that is very similar to what the INSERT ADDRESSES looked like in the old Classic format. When done scroll to the bottom and click on INSERT.
This is not entirely correct, either that or I have discovered a way to correct this.
I suggest you open Yahoo mail in two windows.
One with the COMPOSE window and the other with the CONTACTS LIST.
CUT & COPY an email address from CONTACTS
Take it to COMPOSE and enter it.
Then click on SAVE TO DRAFTS.
Return to COMPOSE (you will note the address bar is empty).
Go back to CONTACTS and CUT & COPY another address then continue the procedure until all the email address you want have been entered this way.
Clearly your DRAFTS will be long, simply delete them.
Go to COMPOSE and one by one, either go along the keyboard or type the alphabet, deleting as you go, but noting the email addresses you have entered, appear. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
