New yahoo mail

Has anyone else noticed the improvement visually with yahoo mail?. It is clearer, sharper and easier to read. Thumbs up from me.

I agree that it is clearer, particularly the boxes to select a message when moving/deleting etc but I've just come to print off a message and for some reason they have hidden the print option under More at the foot of the message. If you select More at the top of the message you get different options such as Star and Clear Star.

For me, I would prefer a clear Print option across the top of the message not something hidden away.

Aliby, I use firefox. I've got IE as well, but haven't viewed through that yet, but will later just to see if there is any difference.
Neil, I hadn't noticed the print thing, but thanks for drawing it to my attention.

I'm not sure I like it. Have played about with themes but can't find one I like ( easy on the eye).

Via settings -you can go back to the basic version of mail. Not sure how long that will be around though, I'm sure they will force you onto newer version at some point.

    .

I've discovered that it is the way you describe if you have conversation view enabled. In non-conversation mode the 'print option' is a available from the More at the top of message.

In non-conversation mode you can tick a message and print will be an option of top More
In conversation mode you can tick a single message(not part of conversation) and print will be an option of top More

Oh no. If they've updated it then the program working worse than usual is just around the corner. Every time they tinker with it it breaks afterwards!

Nope, Gmail is better, hotmail is better and yes Yahoo is trying to get better. :o

thanks, yes, done this and at least got tabs back - the thing I really liked about yahoo, being able to have multiple mails open at once. Hope it lasts for a while :(

island man, that's strange, I am using firefox too, and I think it is loads harder to read. the boxes for selecting, starring, has attachments, etc have all turned into just a strange hieroglyphic.

Aliby, having just read my emails, I am still amazed how clear and uncluttered the page is. For me, it is a vast improvement.

Many thanks for that bit of info. I've now changed the setting and have Print in the top More pulldown.

One other question - what is a "Conversation"? I just want to send and receive emails!

The Yahoo help feature is a waste of time.

    Many thanks.

an article on Yahoo's Gmail like makeover

a snippet from above article to answer Neil's question....

Yahoo's redesigned email unveiled Tuesday includes a Gmail-like tool that will thread together emails related to specific topics so they appear as a succession of messages. The "conversation view" has become a widely used email feature since Gmail helped popularise the concept after it embraced the format in 2004.

e.g. If you have been sending/receiving/replying to/from the same person discussing the same subject...

I don't like the conversation view in Gmail/Yahoo - maybe I will grow to like it...
