our house has been rendered PINK

I am so unhappy. we are in the process of buying a new build, we are meant to be moving in next month. The house is rendered, there are only 2 of this type of house on the estate and the other is brick finished. All the pictures of the house are of it rendered cream. I thought they had put a base coat on and were going to put the cream render on top, but no, our house is rendered in "salmon pink". I absolutely hate it with a passion. I would never in a million years buy a pink house if I had known. We have spent an hour walking around the estate this evening looking at all the other rendered houses which are either: white, cream, grey, mocha or brown. The sales lady told me this evening it was in keeping with the area but how can it be if we are the only pink one??
Please can anyone advise, I have spent the last year saving up for this house and have invested a lot emotionally too. Really not sure where to go from here.

What does your sales contract and associated literature, specifications, etc, say?

Ask them repaint if they wont get it done, its not an expensive job, and not something to lose a house over

all literature says house will be rendered but nothing about the colour. We could get it repainted but it will cost a lot when we have saved literally every penny to pay all moving costs, stamp duty etc. I feel they have misled us by not pointing this out.

Before you change the colour check your deeds, I know we could not change any of our outside colours until all the houses on the estate were sold.

"Hello Gladys, we're in the area, and thought we'd like to see your new house - which one is it?"

It's the salmon pink one - you can't miss it!"

So what made you think it would be cream?

In other words, were you ever told it would be cream, led to believe it would be cream, advised it might not be cream, or was it just never brought up and you assumed?

Perhaps such an important detail should have been specified and clarified before agreeing to part with such a large amount of money?

Painting cream over pink render is far from an ideal solution.

It'll need redoing every X years, and look ugly as sin if the paint ever flakes.

You will probably find it's something called monocouche render. It's a render that is a coloured render, as opposed to aa sand and cement render with a paint finish.

I thought it would be creAm because it was cream in the brochure for the house. I had a conversation with the sales exec about how attractive the house was rendered in cream. It never entered my mind it would be any other colour. Why didn't they produce a brochure with a salmon pink house??!! because they knew it was pig ugly.
