I vote for a good tipple too, at that age she might care more for practical things than a coin or a paper. Just my view no offence intended!!!
I think that the family have got ALL the papers for the day she was born ...from the local rag to The Times!!
I think that the bottle of something is an excellent idea - I know that she likes a wee drop of brandy....0

Non taken - it's just I don't drink or like chocolates, have an abundance of gifted candles I never use hate trinkets and I'm half her age, lol.I vote for a good tipple too, at that age she might care more for practical things than a coin or a paper. Just my view no offence intended!!!
I am interested in history but even the paper would end up in recycling after 2 days.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

My suggestions would be something to enjoy in the moment, sadly not very MSE and you would need to look into what sort of things she enjoys.
Her favourite, extravagant boquet of flowers or pot plant?
A really fancy gourmet food gift, depending on what she likes?
A bottle of her favourite perfume, something fancy?
Rent the most glamorous sports car, a horse carriage, or a helicopter, and go for a ride?0

Lol, I have my own decluttering woes firmly in mind when choosing presents now, no potential junk allowed.. I suggested a tipple as I'm sure it will keep old bones warm this coming winter! 0 0

That's already in hand from her family (photoshopped as half her family live in Australia, Canada, New Zealand - although they'll be there on Saturday)!0

Big old family Skype party? As 100 years ago, no way could you hear "Happy Birthday" from New Zealand live... And everyone can have a brew ready to toast.
Have a very happy birthday ma'am!0

They're all on their way here now! Flying in from four quarters of the world!
They'll all be at the party on Saturday ....last time I spoke to her, she said that she thought she would give everyone a 5 minute conversation - she can't talk to everyone at once as her hearing is "not quite as good as it was"!0

Bottle of brandy with a personalised label - something like http://www.personalisedbottlelabels.co.uk/personalised-brandy-bottle-label.html (or you could make your own).
Perhaps with a personalised bar of chocolate to go with it?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
