Hi,
I use lentils or oatmeal at times if I don't have soya mince/tvp, but wouldn't use both at the same time.
Try adding a tin of chopped tomatoes or some of this
fantastic stuff, so rich and tasty, and actually cheaper than tinned tomatoes, the salt content is a bit high for me, but if making a pot of stuff and portioning and freezing, not too bad.0 -
add some beef gravy, worcester sauce to loosen it. and make a mince beef pie. A bit of ground pepper can zip up the taste as well.
the trick is to add in little bits and taste each time - you can add but not take awayCats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -
Ok...I added a carton of chopped toms and it did nothing, so I added another tin. It's a bit less gloopy now. It's pretty tasteless though and still looks nasty.
The texture is less wallpaper paste though so that's good. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -

Congratulations aliasojo, you have just made me laugh for the first time in a few days.
I'm not sure if it beats my burnt jelly and rubber custard but we could make a right mess between us :rotfl:14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

Ok, all is not lost, have you thought about stretching it out with minced beef?
Otherwise, as others have said, use as a thickener.GE 36 *MFD may 2043
