Left LHR to travel to Amritsar via Delhi - flight connection was delayed by 5 hours. No food or explaination given, weather was fine. I wrote to Jet Airways they advised no compensation as the flight was in India and local rules apply?? however I booked it on 1 e-ticket from the UK return. Wrote to CAA has long delays and just wondered is it worth taking them to court? under the EC Regulation 261/2004 or any other ruling.
Any assistance would be appreciated !

Assuming it was not the flight from London that was delayed and the delay was completely outside the EU on a non-EU airline, I believe you will struggle to get any compensation.
There may be differing opinion on this board but I have not seen any posts from anyone in a similar situation that have successfully received compensation. Had the flight from London been delayed and this in turn made your delay to your final destination over 3 hours then compensation would apply (even if the delay from London was less than 3 hours)0
