Problems at Hargreaves Lansdown?

I can't get through on the 'phone and they claim they can't verify me electronically, which is b*ll*cks, so it must be this dodgy address I have.

If the above problem adding to the ISA persists, I'm rather glad that I can still go elsewhere.

Same thing happened with my sister with the address/verification thing. She's been trying to get through on the phone for ages. I've just spoken to her and she's given up and trying to buy them through the Royal Mail website.

I have just bought too. I can chuck it into an ISA later.

Thanks didn't want to do that as I read that when it comes to scaling down, preference might be given to those who applied early.

It seems Hargreaves Lansdown doesn't work at busy times.

Constant log on failures, and then presented with a log on page, but withthe option to view my accounts! Seems Hargreaves Landsdown website is not sureif I am logged on or not. Both phone lines (dealing and help) are not answeringor engaged constantly. I did want to make the decision about selling my RoyalMail shares myself, but it seems that whatever I decide, HL have overridden itand are forcing me to hang on to them.

I was able to log on to Fidelity without any issues this morning. Looks likeI chose the wrong broker.

App and website down at HL this morning. Managed to sell by phone after hanging on the phone line for 1 and a half hours.

VERY bad isnt it, over 3 hours now and site still not running right.

Makes me nervous if there was a market crash then the same thing could happen and i wouldn't be able to access my accounts....

Yes I was thinking the same thing! I am with HL and did manage to log on and sell at 447p fairly early today - I obviously caught a lucky break, but must have tried logging on 25 times before that happened. I also tried logging in afterwards a number of times to check the trade had actually gone through, as I had got a connection time out on the confirmation page (turns out it was actioned). Clearly everyone trying to log in many times over has put a massive strain on their portal, but it becomes a self-reinforcing problem as the natural thing to do is keep trying over and over when you get blocked out. A similar stampede in the future is probably fairly unlikely in that the number of people using HL solely for Royal Mail is quite possibly far in excess of their normal client base, but it does make me wonder whether if the balloon were to go up in the USA whether I'd be able to get on there to flog my funds...

Could be a good day to ditch HL shares if you own any before they plummet further. A right fiasco it's been - I've spent hours today trying to trade and not achieved a single trade.
