Problems at Hargreaves Lansdown?

Anyone else having problems with Hargreaves Lansdown in the last 24 hours?

My girlfriend tried to apply for Royal Mail shares through them yesterday but the web site said there was a problem and to call today after 8.30am when their phone lines open.

This morning their lines are permanently engaged and their contact page has conflicting information and is different to what she was told yesterday; the headline says open today from 9.30am while the next line says open today from 8am.

Anyone any insight into what is going on?

I've just applied online through HL with no problems.

I had huge problems yesterday with the phonelines at HL. I just wanted to check that I understood the online registration. Finally got through and now all set up with an account. Royal Mail shares are pending and that status presumably changes on Friday.

Money hasn't been taken out of my bank account yet.

I got online yesterday and applied for Royal Mail shares with no problem. At arround 12:30 lunch time. Logged on again 8 am this morning to check the pending order.

I did mine with HL last week. It's in there as pending. I've been trying to get through for ages to see if I can up my bid as they are likely to be scaled down. Can't see a way of doing this online and not sure if you can do this. I've e mailed them and continue to try and get through. It's like trying to get concert tickets.

I put in for some through my Hargreaves ISA.

Am I allowed to put in for some more in my Hargreaves normal share dealing account as well?

Might be what happened with my sister. She tried to apply online with HL yesterday but got a message saying they were unable to automatically verify her ID. She managed to get through on the phone (after trying repeatedly) and it seemed to be because her address is worded slightly differently on the electoral register than it is on her bank account. They said this can happen particularly with buildings converted into flats.

They suggested she scan ID documents to them but she's still not sure if her application will be processed (she's trying to get through on the phone again today!).

Cancel pending transaction (red cross) and apply again?

Has anyone done it online in last hour? I opened an account but it didnt let me add the Royal Mail shares to account? And of course phone lines are engaged.
