    My list:
DW on, WM done, TD on. Just drinking my coffee and then away to get started. Am going to put slummy clothes on first and continue to paint then I can get cleaned up before I start trying to clean things and the paint can have a chance to dry.
    Need to fold towels
    [STRIKE]Empty and restock DW,[/STRIKE]
    Empty TD and fold
[STRIKE]Hang ironing from yesterday in wardrobes and put sheets in drawer[/STRIKE]
If time, and weather permit, I might be able to get out and trim the rose bush out the front. It needs a lot of tying too as it's waving around wildly :o.

DD's bedroom is like a slum. DH has grounded her, stopped her pocket money, taken away her stereo and removed her phone in the space of 15 minutes. Her friend next door actually rang her last night to say she didn't feel well and could she turn her music off (they have adjoining rooms). I'm glad she did, at least it's not only coming from us.
Her room is like a slum again so I will go up and put everything off the floor and onto her bed so I can Hoover it. DS's room was untidy this morning and it took him 3 minutes to put all away. It's amazing. Gah!
Her retort? "yours is a mess too!" Well yes, but as I pointed out to her, the mess in our room is her dolls house and all the decorating stuff and when we've finished painting, it can go away.
DH has told her he won't be doing her room this weekend now because he can't even get through the door.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Tuesday - Stairs/landing/Airing cupboard/kids room
[STRIKE]Get everything out of airing cupboard, sort out, put
back what you actually need, recycle/rehome as need be.
    Test smoke alarms
    Hoover floors
Strip bed/s and wash any bedding
    Dust shelves
Check kids/ OH’s / Your wellington boots fit and are water tight no splits, replace now before there is a shortage if needed
    Clean a window or two
Pair up all odd socks, declutter the rest to recycling/nursery
Wipe any marks off the walls - magic sponges are excellent
    Spot clean any rugs[/STRIKE]

I sorted the medicine cabinet too as that is in the airing cupboard because the rest were not too long jobs, wellies and socks sorted when I did all back to school stuff and airing cupboard was just a straighten as that was sorted recently too. I did have to go out and buy a replacement washing line and fit it as mine snapped whilst pegging out the bedding. I replaced and sorted my pegs too.

    Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

Kaz.. my boys lost their door and anything on the floor gets binned.. if it has gone they can't make a mess with it. DD1 got the hint.. she went to school one day and I gutted her room and got rid of loads of stuff.. she actually thanked me for it a few months ago ( 4 years down the line) as it was overwhelming her and she didn't know where to start with it all so by removing the obvious rubbish and clutter she was able to sort the things she did want to keep.

OH did the school run so I..

Loaded DW, 2x WM, TD x2 .. 3rd load airing now, changed and dressed stinky Dot and made a cuppa.. and put out the composting and put away the cat biscuits. Amazing what you can do in 15 minutes and make no difference to the state of the room.

    Morning all

Finished the boys rooms so upstairs all lovely and clean and tidy for now.

WM just finishing then I'm off t the next town up to return a few bits and do a few bits of shopping.

Really bitty day later back and forth to school to collect DS3 and to a parents info meeting plus DS2 has an extra shift at work tonight (DS1 can help with lifts for that) and DS1 has been called into work now for an extra shift.

I shall do some more flying when I get back.

Knitting question - I have a 4mm hoop how different is that from knitting with size 10 needles - I need a very basic yes just do it or no it will be a disaster answer. It is to attempt to knit a teddy for a charity project from MF3.

:rotfl::rotfl:So I am not the ony one to do that! SW3 kept slamming her door so I told her, do it again and I'll take it off. She did so I did :D she was mortified. The next morning I put it back with the promise that it would be off for a week if she did it again lol needless to say it has not been removed since.

Some December shopping done online but not a lot else :o

LW: dunno, Jack Russells and Westies seem to have the word "trouble" as part of the name :D I hear miniature Schnauzers can lead other dogs astray as well:)

by hoop im assuming you mean the two pointy needle bits on the end of a plastic piece usually used for knitting in the round - something ive never mastered so cant use them

it would come up bigger so you'd need to allow more wool 4mm is the same as an old size 8 so you'd really need 3.25mm to be the same size
but as long as you are passing the stitches back and forth from one side of the hoop to the other i would think it would work fine

i think pigpens the best one to ask

  • Wow! I'm in awe of the amount of work being done here, some of us (not me!) should be attached to the National Grid. No need for wind-farms or solar panels, just pure energy produced in mopping, washing and tidying!

I have a parcel to pick up from the post office this evening and will walk there to get my exercise for the day. After recently starting a new desk job my waistband was getting tighter so I've started walking every day and have substituted carrot sticks for treats now.

    Wishing everyone a productive day.
