... all your username. Please don't do it; it is very confusing.
These forums may seem like a fountain which never dries up ... but cross posting is a real annoyance. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
Plus you may get perfectly good answers on one thread and someone might go and give the same answer on another thread - then end up feeling that their time has been right royally wasted when they see that they have only duplicated something on another thread.

Thanks will do that, what do we do in the mean time if a cheque arrives for less than the deposit amount ?, send it back with a similar letter as above ?
Thank you for your cheque for £X which arrived today.
As you know, I paid a deposit of £Y, and you are therefore still holding a deposit of £Z (Y-X).
Kindly confirm which deposit scheme this is being held in, in accordance with the Housing Act 2004
Yours sincerely

Does the tenancy stay the exact same even though all the contact details have changed or do we sign a new tenancy agreement ? if we do sign another one can we enforce that certain terms are carried over (right to decorate etc) ?
thanks for your help so far
Don't sign another agreement if you're happy with your existing one. You just need official confirmation in writing of who your new landlord is, how to pay them and a UK address for the serving of notices (as far as I know anyway).Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

Thanks,
I already know where the deposit is being held and spoke to them but they claim i cannot start a dispute until LA informs them the tenancy has ended, but i am unsure if it is ending or if it continues until existing TA runs out.0 -

a) both LL & tenant agree mutually to end it
b) a LL obtains a court order to end it
c) a tenant gives notice and vacates0 -
A tenancy ends when either

ie the tenancy continues with the new LL.
So the LA is correct to say you cannot raise a dispute, however by the same logic they cannot make a deduction; they must pass the deposit across to the new LL.
Getting that to happen is the problem of the new LL.0 -

It was the deposit scheme that said i cannot raise a dispute,LA says that because the money is legally mine they cannot authorise the transfer and so they have to return it to me to then pay new LL.0
