  • I would include it in the grocery budget, but that's because I use my weekly budget for misc spends or the little extras I 'want' during the week. Whereas a mop I would assume is a necessity. :D

I totally agree :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    NSD today

Very hard not to spend today as work has a sale on and I like a few things - put a few bits by to think about :eek:

I was trying to be a good citizen this morning in the car park so was looking for someone to give my parking ticket to as it still had 2 hours on it. So I drive around and back into the car park.... as I was driving in a guy gave me his parking ticket as it still had two hours on.... Then the next lady told me where there was a space... Arrrggghhh so now I have two x two hour tickets and a parking space when all I want to do is go home. :rotfl::rotfl: I managed to find someone to give a ticket to then I think she got caught by a parking attendant. And I still left with a ticket, so I should have just gone home in the first place. :rotfl:

And after buying nibbles I now have to resist the temptation to scoff them all. Especially after losing 4lbs in the last two weeks.

I'm doing terrible this week. I'm bringing food in to work, eating it all before lunch then going to buy snacks!! I seem to be extra hungry this week!!!

    Sun - NSD
Mon - £5 top up shop
    Tues - £4.29 McD
    Wed - £1.90 snacks
    Thur - £4.80 snacks:eek:

I'm nearly at my weekly budget and not even done a weekly shop yet! I'm going to reevaluate the freezer tonight and make an amended list.

I will go over but will try to make it as little as possible!!!! MUST. STAY. AWAY FROM SHOP TOMORROW. Aaaaaaaaaaa!
  • Morning Gang!!

There's an impressive amount of NSD's on the thread this morning - good job!! :j

Had a very busy week in work - and we're not even half way yet!!
So, a quick update from me:

    Sun: NSD
    Mon: NSD
Tues: post-training drink and food at the rugby club for me and OH £2.50
    Wed: NSD worked O/T
    Thurs: NSD worked O/T

Today should definitely be a NSD - work out and clean the house this morning, paying a £10 cheque from work in at town, going to grab a free coffee at Waitrose with a friend and hit the library for a new book! Start work at 5pm til 3am so will take food in with me!

Saturday I'm doing the same shift, and mountain biking in the morning, so hopefully a NSD there!

I have a rugby match on Sunday, so that will be £5 subs plus a drink for me, OH and my oppo... But shouldn't come to more than £10 - so all in all a pretty good week!!

I currently have a pot labelled "slush" with £5 in it (!); one called "car" with a more significant sum (I only passed my test in january so my premiums are still high) - this also has my MOT/tax/servicing money (or at least what i've saved towards it for now) - what else should I have pots for?

You'll be sorry you asked splodge....my pots are for:
car (tax, MOT, insurance); house insurance; optician & dentist (I was paying into a health plan and never claimed as much as I paid in so now in a pot); Christmas, Misc (birthdays, haircuts etc) - all in a regular saver account and broken down on a spreadsheet..... I also have a holiday fund in a different regular saver and a sealed pot which I think I'm going to use towards treating myself to an ipad at the end of the year if there's enough. I have what I consider "real" savings in yet another regular saver. Told you you'd be sorry :rotfl:
Monday was an NSD :) am expecting to spend today. Was very proud of myself - gave a presentation in front of about 350 people yesterday! Scary stuff but can only get easier now :)

Yay, well done you :j They do get easier....but I think you need a wee bit of fear to give it some oomph :rotfl:

Oh yes, and in budgeting news....I still haven't spent anything except petrol and groceries (another budget) this week. On track to stay green :A
