splodgethefirst wrote: »Evening all,
NSD today as expected (bar petrol, from petrol budget). Am pondering making some more pots for my savings - what does everyone else do?
I currently have a pot labelled "slush" with £5 in it (!); one called "car" with a more significant sum (I only passed my test in january so my premiums are still high) - this also has my MOT/tax/servicing money (or at least what i've saved towards it for now) - what else should I have pots for?
I currently have accounts for....
Weekly spends (current acc)
Groceries/petrol (current acc)
Car insurance/ MOT/ service (savings acc)
Birthdays/ Xmas (savings acc)
I also currently have a maternity savings account, which I am paying myself from as my wages decrease. But when this is empty and I am back at work it will be reallocated.
And....
I also have an account that I am saving in for my hubby's 40th birthday in December. Again will be reallocated after this.
I guess it depends what your big spends are through the year that you need to try and save for.
Blimey sorry for the essay.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

All with Nationwide bar the one for hubby's birthday which is Santander. Always been with Nationwide, then opened Santander when it was a good rate, which it isn't anymore but it helps that I can't access as easily.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

Morning Gang!!
Thanks again for the new thread ETO!!
We had a bit of a spendy weekend with a hen night, first weekend off together in ages and a trip to Ikea!!
So, went over budget in style!! Will count the damage this morning when I move some money around, but definitely red by about £40
In saying that, OH is much happier we've had some time together, and has a new adopted hamster called "Bubbles" after much nagging!!
Ok, so need to set a budget for this week...
Mon - NSD
Tues - drink (inc free dinner!!) after training at the rugby club £3
Wed - NSD
Thur - NSD
Fri - dirty food on the late-late shift at work £3
Sat - NSD
Sun - rugby match (subs & drinks) £10
So, setting the budget at £20 for this week I think!! Fingers crossed!
Hope everyone has a fantastic week!! xxx:T DEBT FREE AS OF APRIL 2013! :T"I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul"0 -
