Leaving really bad skid marks when the apparatus for removing the offending articles is situated next to the toilet.

I find toilet brushes really offensive. Why on earth would anyone give house room to a brush with particles of shoite in the bristles sitting in a puddle of dilute poo water?

:rotfl::rotfl: I hate them too, one of the first things I did when my ex moved out was bin the loo brush! Hate them, gross things, just freaking aim properly.

  • Toilet brushes are only bad when people don't keep them clean and sanitised. And unfortunately a lot of people don't.

Mine get soaked in a solution of boiling water and bleach every week and then sit in a mild solution of bleach the rest of the time.

The trouble is, most people don't bother doing this. They scrub their toilet with a brush that sits dry in a pot for months on end, which is revolting. As you said FVD, they sit in a puddle of shoite water. Bleurch.

Keep it clean and sanitised or don't keep it at all.

    Do you have any children?

I think that's a question for me. No, we don't have any children and nor do we want any. That's not the reason though! I have changed one nappy in my life, it belonged to my nephew and although it didn't rank up there with the most enjoyable experiences of my life it wasn't the worst either. That seems different somehow.

I don't have any issues cleaning up after our pets either but they are small, furry, non carniverous so the poo isn't offensive.

I replace all mine regularly (four toilets in the house) and in between uses they sit in bleach.

Couldn't be without it, don't know how you keep a toilet clean without one.

Well, let's hope that you never do have children, nor have to deal with anyone elderly ...nor, as someone else has suggested, that you or your OH suffer from IBS at any time!

I don't try to clean anything else in my house by just squirting at it, let alone the toilet! I believe in scrubbing...

We have water saving toilets (new build, no choice, everyone hates them), and even we don't get the aim right, and we've been here for six months. I get seriously fed up of cleaning the toilets, but I do agree with you about toilet brushes, disgusting things!

Nope, sorry, that just changes the colour, it doesn't clean. Toilet duck fresh brush with the handle wiped after use with an anti-bac wipe is in use here.

(I have both Chrohn's disease and IBS, so I'm a bit fanatical about clean loos :( )
