No! You are still getting it all wrong! This time, you got your sums wrong as others have pointed out.
Besides, DealExtream use HK Airmail for shipping. It can easily take 30 days after the order is placed.
eTotalk sent my phone with DHL and I got in 4 days. And it was ready to use out of the box.
MSE has done what is needed by removing your vile post.
As for sueing you, I have no time for trolls! That is just a misguided opinion. Dozens of people at GiffGaff who actually own the phone, think that they got an excellent phone at a bargain price.
Seems that you are Trolling on your own thread and falling over your own feet in your rush to promote it.
My sums are correct. Deliveries via DHL are as equally liable for VAT and Import Tax as are deliveries from DX.
So the price is as quoted.
My point is that you can easily obtain these cheap phones. No great bargain at all.
I'm sure that etotalk will be happy with your enthusiastic promotion.
I still say buyer beware.0 -
The way eTotalk sent it, my total cost was around £99 as stated.
Mobile Network Comparision bought it from another supplier and based on their review they paid around £100

Which doesn't answer my question. If a direct import from China, then import duty and VAT are both due, whether you have paid them or not in this instance. No free lunch, and no free laptop

As I said, "The way eTotalk sent it ......."Which doesn't answer my question. If a direct import from China, then import duty and VAT are both due, whether you have paid them or not in this instance.
Can't go in to details since this thread has attracted a troll and I don't want to be subjected to malicious attacks. As it is, I wish I did not start this thread
You might wish to read posts at GiffGaff and other forums on Chinese phones on how to go about it.0 -
Ignore anyone who's posts you don't like. Calling someone troll is bound to cause you trouble. Not to say offensive to whoever thinks they are being referred to.
Back to your topic. Having to return a product to China for a warranty repair should be enough to put anyone off this deal you are pushing at us and being extraordinarily defensive over.
You don't have a vested interest?0 -
Any notion that I have a vested interest is absurd.Back to your topic. Having to return a product to China for a warranty repair should be enough to put anyone off this deal you are pushing at us and being extraordinarily defensive over.
You don't have a vested interest?
I purchased a quality phone at a bargain price and started this thread to share it with other MSEers.
And that is in the spirit of the MSE forum.
Everything I posted are based on facts and on my experience. That is not pushing.
Call me "extraordinarily defensive" if you so wish but posts by trolls with inaccurate information and insinuations need to be addressed. Apart from me, some others, quite rightly, have also done just that.
As for the warranty issue see my reply to 'ballyblack'.
Dozens of people at GiffGaff who bought the phone and use it, think that they got an excellent phone at a bargain price. Experienced folks at Mobile Network Comparison also think so.
I have seen many favourable posts by users at forums on Chinese phones. Many of them appear to be knowledgeable and are repeat buyers.0 -
You seem to think posters at the forums you mention have the same objectives as mse readers.
Millions of them wouldn't entertain your assurance it would be worth saving a few pounds buying from China and having to post a phone back there for a repair.
You claim to have been libelled yet put this aside to keep defending and promoting this here??0 -

So in other words, they've evaded the duties due. Hardly a fair price comparison then.,No free lunch, and no free laptop

No, I don't think so! Also have a read at the links I posted before about the purchase of this phone by many others at similar prices and from sellers other than eTotalk. So in other words, they've evaded the duties due. Hardly a fair price comparison then.,
Could they all be evading duties due?!0 -
May be you could explain why you assume that posters at the forums mentioned do not have the same or similar objectives as MSE readers. You seem to think posters at the forums you mention have the same objectives as mse readers.
I assured nothing! Your comment about "millions of them" is nothing more than a wild guess!Millions of them wouldn't entertain your assurance it would be worth saving a few pounds buying from China and having to post a phone back there for a repair.
It is a known fact that increasing number of people are buying phones direct from China.
I don't see any logic or sense in what you say.You claim to have been libelled yet put this aside to keep defending and promoting this here??
Are you trying to stop me from posting here?!
Now why not stop dissing a poster with good intentions?
May be you could try posting something useful about saving money?0 -
You say you have good intentions, and continue to insist this is a good deal for us, yet evade the legitimate question on how this purchase evades the duties normally associated with this type of transaction??0
