Many Thanks ; When I did the N180 I said I would have no witnesses other than myself : are you allowed to arrive with someone else? ( if that is indeed what you are offering ?

I think you can address that when asking the court (in writing) to allocate it to Stockport and giving your reasons why as per Daisy's reply above. Say that you need Stockport court to know that you may have an unqualified lay representative* with you.



*unless anyone else has the right term if I have that wrong, I don't think it's a McKenzie friend in this instance?

You don't need to tell the court in advance that you will have a representative (lay or otherwise). The question about witnesses is just so the court can assess the length of time it needs to allocate to the case, and so each side knows how many witness statements to expect from the other.

Update :

** I got written confirmation from MCOL of transfer to Manchester Crown Court

** I got an acknowledgement from BPAS that they are investigating following my 2nd chaser to my mail due to non-response. Fingers crossed

** No response from SIP to the letter I sent with my copy of the N180 I sent to them + I didn't receive a copy of their N180 which I understood I should receive ( deadline was 8th Nov so if I was getting it I should have received it by now ) - another non-compliance I suspect

I hope so - but I was about 2 weeks ahead of Ed666 and I am post POFA . I'll keep this thread updated with what happens.

Update : Notice of discontinuance received today.

A bid thank you to all who have helped , in particular Coupon Mad , Lazy Daisy , Spacey2012, nigelbb , kirkbyin furnesslad and many others .

I guess we;ll never know what caused the change of heart : Letter to BPA? Strong defence which meant they shouldn't win?

P.S. Natasha Sarwar is identified as " Case Handler" - this question has come up on a few threads.

Lessons learnt for me :

1. Message needs to be spread not to read old info and get people directed to the beginning of the forum , so the step by step robust advice can be followed : I made the mistake when I googled at first of finding old info
2. Do go to POPLA - on a different forum I got conflicting info and didn't use the code I got ( largely becuase I was so confident my second appea; would stop it I didn't bother - not realising that these companies don't follow common sense or logic - or the law for that matter )
3. DO THE WORK - don't expect others to do it for you , but then put it up for comment .
4. Don't timeout.

Popla is a no brainer really and those on an other forum who advise otherwise need their heads testing.
