sorry to hear the sad news claretgirl xx

just wanted to ask you ladies a question
according to fertility friend im about right for ovulation, noticed when i went to the toilet there was some brown spotting could this be a sign of ovulation??? and soes it mean ive ovulated or does it mean i need to bd lots??? thanks


just done an ovulation test and theres a super faint line..

Hi there - not sure about spotting, as I've never had it.

I'm always skeptical about FF ovulation predictions, especially if you don't have a regular cycle (for example, recently I've had cycles of 32, 30 and then 28 days, last cycle I ovulated (according to an OPK) on day12-13, but FF is still telling me I'll ovulate on day 15-16). But only you can know how reliable/accurate it is for you.

With ovulation tests, from what I've read, a faint line is always a negative - it's not like a pregnancy test as the hormone it's detecting can be present at any point of your cycle, just to a lesser extent. So you need to look out for a strong (or near enough) line to indicate ovulation is approaching.

However there's nothing to stop you giving it a go!

thanks sweaty betty, i no u need the darker line, werent sure if it just all pointed to it bein on its way, i never rely on fertility friend as im still not really regular, i just use it as i rough guide, thanku

DD1 has her operation on Tuesday so next week I will be found in hospital with her at least I can get lots of hand sewing done .......

Looks like I'm out. Spotting this morning so pretty sure AF is here or at least on her way. I've got weird pains this month, just on one side next to my hip, not like the usual cramps which are usually all over. After the boob pain being REALLY bad last night, I woke up and it's almost gone so I am sure AF will start up properly soon.
So disappointed. I know I haven't been trying that long (4th cycle) but I was convinced it had happened this month. I mean seriously, the worse than normal boob pain, the white lumps on my nips that I've never had before...all for nothing. So guess I have over a week of savage boob pain to look forward to every month...great.
